In a March interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/melissa-auf-der-maur-shares-what-olivia-rodrigo-told-her-daughter-without-your-mother-none-of-this-would-have-happened-3937644\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>NME<\/em><\/a>, Auf der Maur revealed a moment she had with Rodrigo, during which the young superstar told Auf der Maur\u2019s 13-year-old daughter: \u201cWithout your mother, none of this would have happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s when it locked in for me that there are direct correlations,\u201d Auf der Maur added. \u201cIn Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s records, I notice the \u201990s influence in both the songwriting and production, and of course her debut album, <em>SOUR<\/em>\u2019s cover has a nod to Hole\u2019s <em>Live Through This<\/em>, with the beauty queen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>Her surprise turn with Smashing Pumpkins is only the latest in a running trend of Rodrigo sharing the stage with her alt-rock legends.
