Additionally, the affiliate reported carrying an unsustainable $5.6 million in uncompensated and undercompensated care.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">PPMI said the decision came after a comprehensive evaluation of its statewide network, following earlier cost-cutting measures that included eliminating administrative and non-clinical roles to prioritize direct patient care.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Planned Parenthood officials warned that reproductive health care providers across the Midwest face similar financial strains due to chronic underfunding, shifting state and federal Medicaid rules, and rising operational costs.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America\u2019s Director of State Affairs Sue Liebel told Fox News Digital, &#8220;Michiganders deserve far better than Planned Parenthood for their hard-earned tax dollars. These are painful decisions, but they are strategic decisions grounded in where we can preserve access for the greatest number of patients.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">The closures stem from <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_media_article_main-content_article-body_6_3990165\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/politics\/house-of-representatives\/legislation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">federal legislation<\/a> signed into law last year that restricts federal funds \u2014 including Medicaid reimbursements \u2014 from going to organizations that perform abortions.
