It is when the placenta hormones cause insulin resistance, a.k.a., your pancreas cannot create enough insulin to keep your blood sugar normal.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400\">Gestational diabetes affects up to 9 percent of pregnant people, according to the CDC, which is why Cooper said she was told \u201canyone can get this.
