Based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/books\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer\">books<\/a> by <strong>Laura Ingalls Wilder<\/strong>, the OG show ran from 1974 to 1983 and followed her American pioneer life with her family, including pa <strong>Charles Ingalls<\/strong>, ma <strong>Caroline Ingalls<\/strong> and sisters <strong>Mary Ingalls<\/strong> and <strong>Carrie Ingalls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>And if you loved those stories, the cast of the revival hopes you\u2019ll hitch your wagon to this version too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that we want this to be an extension of the <em>Little House<\/em> world,\u201d <strong>Alice Halsey<\/strong>, who inherited the role of Laura from <strong>Melissa Gilbert<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/videos\/2505016387700\/little-house-on-the-prairie-stars-share-the-major-way-the-show-stayed-true-to-the-books\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer\">recently explained to E! News&#8217; <strong>Will Marfuggi<\/strong><\/a>. &#8220;You can love the books and the old series and hopefully you\u2019ll love ours too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Still, there are some notable differences between the shows. Take Carrie, for instance. While the character was featured from the start of the original <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/emmys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer\">Emmy-winning series<\/a>, she doesn\u2019t make an appearance in season one of the Netflix program.
