To join in with the discussions yourself email <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/07\/31\/games-inbox-will-play-zelda-ocarina-time-remake-gta-6-first-29264053\/mailto:gamecentral@metro.co.uk\">gamecentral@metro.co.uk<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>One or the other<\/strong><br \/>A lot of people have already guessed that it\u2019s the sort of contrary thing <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/nintendo\/\">Nintendo<\/a> is likely to do but I think it\u2019s looking increasingly likely that the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/06\/15\/hidden-zelda-ocarina-time-blurb-found-nintendo-beats-summer-game-fest-28783962\/\">Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remake<\/a> is going to coming out at almost exactly the same time as <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/grand-theft-auto-6\/\">GTA 6<\/a>. Nintendo is crazy enough to do anything but we\u2019re at the point where we still haven\u2019t seen more than 5 seconds of the game, so we\u2019re going to have get a Direct first, which shows no sign of happening yet.<\/p>\n<p>Even if it\u2019s early to mid-August, that\u2019s going to mean a release no earlier than September and I\u2019d guess much later. Nintendo isn\u2019t going to shadow drop their biggest game of the year, they want that sweet pre-order money just the same as every other publisher.<\/p>\n<p>Now, who knows what Nintendo is going to think when it sees that September and October are jam-packed and nothing is out in November but I think it\u2019s going to be\u2026 \u2018Nothing is out in November, let\u2019s release it then!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sure there\u2019s some crossover, but GTA and Zelda aren\u2019t exactly the same audience so I\u2019m going to bet 10 internet points that they release Zelda within a week of GTA 6.<\/p>\n<div class=\"factbox\" data-ico=\"factbox_article\" data-track-module=\"factbox_article\">\n<h2 class=\"factbox-title\">\n\t\t\t\tExpert, exclusive gaming analysis\t\t\t<\/h2>\n<div class=\"factbox-content\">\n<p>Sign up to the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/newsletters\/game-central\/\"><strong>GameCentral newsletter<\/strong><\/a> for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. If you got both at the same time, would you dive into Ocarina Of Time first or the most anticipate game of all-time? Me personally, I\u2019ll always bet on Nintendo.<br \/><strong>Onibee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Late realisation<\/strong><br \/>It\u2019s a sad inevitability that everyone only realises what a con digital downloads are at the point at which they become the only option. These <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/07\/30\/wolverine-ps5-considerably-cheaper-disc-digital-download-29262319\/\">price cuts on Wolverine<\/a>, months before it\u2019s even out, are not something you\u2019ll ever get digitally, because there\u2019s only one way to buy the download: <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/sony\/\">Sony<\/a>\u2019s way.<\/p>\n<p>They want all the money for themselves and they want all the control, so they can take the game away from you whenever they want and stop you from getting a refund. Nothing\u2019s going to change, they\u2019ve made their stand now and most people don\u2019t know or care what\u2019s being lost.<\/p>\n<p>But soon enough even the most casual gamer is going to notice that Sony (and <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/microsoft\/\">Microsoft<\/a>, I\u2019m sure) hold all the cards and they just have to go along with it.<br \/><strong>Franky<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>E is for Ehh<\/strong><br \/>I\u2019ve read a handful of <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/07\/30\/gears-war-e-day-multiplayer-preview-future-xbox-exclusive-29259301\/\">Gears Of War: E-Day previews<\/a> now and not a single one of them is above lukewarm. I know that\u2019s exactly what you\u2019d expect after seeing the footage but whoops, what a waste.<\/p>\n<p>The game clearly cost a fortune, that it\u2019s not got a chance of getting back if it\u2019s an <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/xbox\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Xbox<\/a> console. Microsoft is going to be on the hook for $100+ million for this, so you know what they\u2019re going to do about that\u2026 so good luck to all developers on the job market.<\/p>\n<p>I honestly don\u2019t know why Microsoft is still in the games industry. They\u2019re obviously not going to come out on top and all they\u2019re doing is destroying other perfectly good companies. It\u2019s <em>cheaper<\/em> second-hand. \u00a35 is \u00a35. Arguably the biggest Nintendo game and system seller is probably not the best game to use for examples of second-hand prices.<\/p>\n<p>All the factors will lead to it retaining a pretty high price for ever, but they still have it cheaper and why would you spend an extra \u00a35 simply to remove some plastic from the box? It\u2019s a big problem with society as a whole and its critical thinking abilities.<\/p>\n<p>To see \u00a35 as a \u2018small\u2019 value and therefore not enough to differentiate between two numbers is illogical and quite simply false. Cheaper is cheaper and the difference between new and second-hand (especially with cartridges) is negligible.<br \/><strong>Alex<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No comparison<\/strong><br \/>All those against Sony scrapping physical discs are allowing themselves to be affected by two things: nostalgia and resistance to change.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at PC gaming. It was completely physical before. Then <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/steam\/\">Steam<\/a> came along, and it\u2019s now the most universal online purchasing platform. Now PC gaming is all digital, and no one\u2019s complaining, so why don\u2019t Sony fans just grow up and accept the change?<br \/><strong>Henry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>GC: <\/strong>You should check and see how Sony\u2019s refund policy compares to Steam\u2019s.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SNES Longplay [537] Mr  Do!\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-9h8DYjO8KE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Mr Did<\/strong><br \/>I saw that Mr. Do! was available on <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/07\/26\/10-best-arcade-archives-games-modern-consoles-readers-feature-29217808\/\">Arcade Archives<\/a> today. 1982 is a long time ago. The age of my wife\u2026 but don\u2019t tell her. She still thinks she\u2019s 21 (smiley face). It came out in May, and I thought I had been keeping up with it. Mr. Do! though! They had this game at the caravan park I used to visit, and my dad always used to watch me do the top score on it. Wanting me to excel in life he got me a means to play games, but never Mr. Do! (sad face).<\/p>\n<p>A few people wrote in recently about Hamster and the Arcade Archives. For anyone of a certain older age it\u2019s got to be worth a look, or anyone of any age, as some are really playable even today.<\/p>\n<p>Usually their screenshots of the games you\u2019re purchasing is pretty much bang on and you\u2019ll remember the name of the game you\u2019re wanting to buy.<\/p>\n<p>Been blasting Mr. Do! all day, well for a few hours. I\u2019ve been getting complaints because it\u2019s so loud from my missus but it\u2019s because the game has such a wonderful soundtrack. Maybe it\u2019s four or five songs and a few sound effects but it\u2019s amazing and you\u2019ll end you whistling it while you\u2019re out.<\/p>\n<p>Had the sound when you lose in my mobile for ages.<br \/><strong>Nick the greek<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>GC:<\/strong> Despite its ubiquity in arcades Mr. Do! saw surprisingly few home ports. There was no Spectrum or NES version, and it never appeared on any Sega console. There was a SNES game, but it arrived 12 years late and with very few new features.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Free roll<\/strong><br \/>I have just found out that Crunchyroll subscriptions include access to a collection of free games similar to Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>While the majority are anime-inspired visual novels, there are some highly rated gems like Metal Slug Tactics, Crypt Of The Necrodancer, Dungeons Of Hinterberg, Pepper Grinder, Shogun Showdown, and more. For me, it\u2019s most definitely not, but I also didn\u2019t rate The Last Of Us \u2013 I found it so slow, and not \u2018my kind of game.\u2019 I gave up a good few hours in, trying to give it it\u2019s chance, as I\u2019m predominantly a single-player gamer, due to the way I\u2019ve personally evolved in the last 15 years or so.<\/p>\n<p>I also don\u2019t think it\u2019s in the top seven Nintendo games (whether first party or otherwise). I could easily name Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, GoldenEye 007, Tetris, and Mario Kart 8 above them, off the top of my head, as part of my top seven.<\/p>\n<p>But equally, I do think it\u2019s one of the best Switch 2 games at the moment. I\u2019ve finished the main story and am now grinding for the best loadout (if you know, you know) and one of the few I\u2019ve genuinely stuck with, along with Mario Kart World and Bananza, to complete as much as possible \u2013 so easily in my top three for the console.<\/p>\n<p>Add to that, whilst I have the other three mainline Splatoon games on the original hardware, I\u2019ve never been that fond of them, as I\u2019m not too stuck on competitive shooters (my reflexes are just not good enough for the young\u2019uns) and I absolutely love the game \u2013 even elsewhere I\u2019ve given it a 9 via personal opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I\u2019m not saying that a lot of people are like me and have been screaming for a more single-player focused version of the game but coming relatively full circle; it can show how in both user and professional reviews, bias can easily be implemented, even unconsciously.<\/p>\n<p>If I give it a 9, and others do, that automatically puts it at 90%; but then you have to consider things like is this what some\/all users wanted, do they enjoy the snappy pick up and play levels (like me), are they happy with the price point (even if they are, as stated \u2018no-name sites\u2019), or maybe just starved of Switch 2 originals and gave it a high score on that?<\/p>\n<p>I can see personally why the scores are high when you potentially consider those factors \u2013 and that the thing also with an opinion; it\u2019s exactly that. What I love, GC and some users (readers, gamers) may not.<\/p>\n<p>I do find it odd, the ranking at the moment; but with the world in a bit of limbo, let people have their opinions on a game. The way I see it, it\u2019s not hurting anyone!<br \/><strong>Slideaway1983 (PSN ID)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>GC:<\/strong> We can\u2019t help but feel a little hurt that you apparently don\u2019t trust us, or any other established review source, more than a random user review.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inbox also-rans<\/strong><br \/>There were some pretty impressive tornadoes on Giant\u2019s Deep in The Outer Wilds. Or were they seanadoes?<br \/><strong>GMA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maybe that <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/07\/18\/odyssey-badly-needs-a-big-budget-video-game-adaptation-readers-feature-29166540\/\">Reader\u2019s Feature<\/a> was right and there should be a video game of The Odyssey, if <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/07\/30\/assassins-creed-odyssey-seen-a-surge-players-due-nolan-film-29261795\/\">that Assassin\u2019s Creed game is doing so well<\/a> just on word association.
