Additional casting will be announced later. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe new production, directed by Tyne Rafaeli, will begin previews on Tuesday, December 15, at MTC\u2019s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, with opening night on Thursday, January 7, 2027. MTC announced the new cast members today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe synopsis: \u201cIt\u2019s the 1930s, and the Bronx is a furnace. New ideas clash with the old amidst the poverty and shattered promises of the Great Depression. And three generations of the Berger family, trapped inside their cramped tenement, struggle to hold different visions of an American dream.\u201d MTC describes the play as a \u201cclassic battle between hope and disillusionment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDiamond will play Hennie Berger, the family\u2019s young daughter, and Pullen will play Ralph Berger, Hennie\u2019s younger brother. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDiamond is a Tony and Grammy Award nominated actor for her star turn as Lucille Frank in <em>Parade<\/em> on Broadway. She made her Broadway debut as Babe, the youngest Cher, in <em>The Cher Show<\/em>. Most recently, she appeared in the <em>The Seat of Our Pants<\/em>, at the Public Theater, a musical based on Thornton Wilder\u2019s <em>The Skin of Our Teeth<\/em>. On TV she most recently appeared as series regular Sister Megan Duval in Ryan Murphy\u2019s <em>Grotesquerie<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPullen can next be seen reprising his role in the sequel to Aaron Schneider\u2019s feature <em>Greyhound<\/em>, opposite Tom Hanks for Apple, and can currently be seen in Ridley Scott and Peter Craig\u2019s Apple limited series <em>Dope Thief<\/em>. He recently starred in Angus MacLachlan\u2019s feature <em>A Little Prayer <\/em>and Nora Fingscheidt\u2019s Netflix feature <em>The Unforgivable<\/em>. He had a recurring role in the Apple series <em>Dickinson<\/em>, an on Broadway he starred as Jem in Aaron Sorkin\u2019s <em>To Kill a Mockingbird.<\/em> He recently appeared in Adam Bock\u2019s play <em>The Receptionist <\/em>at Second Stage, and additional stage credits include his Broadway debut in Lynn Nottage\u2019s <em>Sweat<\/em>. Other screen credits include a FX\u2019s <em>The Americans <\/em>and Jenji Kohan\u2019s HBO pilot <em>The Devil You Know.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em>Awake and Sing!<\/em> originally premiered on Broadway in 1935, produced by the legendary Group Theatre, and helped establish Odets as a major voice in American theater.
