News<\/em> host<\/a> over an intercom but doesn\u2019t \u201crecall [his] exact wording.\u201d But Giuliana remembers all too well what happened! She opened up about the end of their relationship in her 2015 memoir <em>Going Off Script,<\/em> saying Jerry told her:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cNope, sorry, homegirl. Things change, but you take care, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Although Jerry doesn\u2019t remember saying that, as we said, he admitted to the terrible way he called things off with Giuliana! And to make it worse? He only broke up with her over the intercom because he had another woman inside his place at the time! Yikes!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/perezhilton.com\/jerry-oconnell-reveals-rebecca-romijn-reaction-ex-husband-john-stamos-writing-about-demise-of-marriage-memoir\/\"><strong>Related: Jerry Reveals More About Rebecca\u2019s Reaction To John Stamos\u2019 Memoir<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Word got back to Giuliana last week that he confessed all this, but she claimed she <a href=\"https:\/\/perezhilton.com\/giuliana-rancic-calls-out-ex-jerry-oconnell-fuzzy-memory-breakup\/\">wanted to set the record straight<\/a> on her own podcast \u2014 especially on some deets he had been \u201cfuzzy\u201d on.<\/p>\n<p>Well, y\u2019all, she delivered! During a new episode of the <em>Bill and Giuliana<\/em> <em>Podcast<\/em> on Wednesday, the television personality called out Jerry for \u201cdownplaying\u201d their relationship:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFor a year and a half \u2014 except for the one breakup with Ginger Spice \u2014 we were together 24\/7 every day, every night. You could listen to his interview and think maybe this was an easy relationship, he was dating a bunch of girls, but no. It was a real relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She recalled everything had been \u201cperfect\u201d and \u201ctotally fine\u201d between them when the<em> Jerry Maguire<\/em> star went to film a movie with <strong>Geri Halliwell<\/strong> in London. But then photos emerged around a week or two later of the co-stars walking out of a restaurant together holding hands:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt was, like the most shocking moment of my life so far. I walked into a voiceover booth, and I just fell to the ground, crying hysterically. It was awful. It was so upsetting, and it was so devastating.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When Giuliana called and confronted Jerry, he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cYeah, sorry. I don\u2019t know what to tell you. I screwed up. Like, basically, have a nice life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Following the breakup, the reporter said she was then \u201cleft to pick up the pieces of what was literally a perfect relationship for a year.\u201d It didn\u2019t help matters either knowing she\u2019d have to go onward watching his \u201chot and heavy\u201d with Geri play out. <em>However<\/em>, she claims Jerry eventually came crawling back. She says he called Giuliana\u2019s pal \u201ccrying\u201d about how much he wants her back, and he even showed up at the lobby of her apartment building to beg for her forgiveness! Despite her telling him to leave, the daytime talk show host followed her into an elevator to declare his love for her:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI am so sorry. I made the biggest mistake of my entire life. I don\u2019t know what I was thinking. Please take me back. I love you. Blah Blah Blah. You\u2019re the love of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite him cheating, Giuliana took him back! She and Jerry continued to date for another four or five months, but then things took a turn in their relationship again after they attended a <strong>Maxim Hot 100 Party<\/strong> in Las Vegas. When they returned to Los Angeles that same week, Jerry started to \u201cact really weird,\u201d and said he needed to return to Sin City for work. He left, and Giuliana couldn\u2019t \u201cget in touch with him\u201d to find out when he would be back. She naturally became \u201cworried\u201d and texted him:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFinally, I said, \u2018Jerry, I\u2019m gonna call the police,\u2019 like I\u2019m really worried about you. Where are you? He writes back, \u2018Do not call the police.\u2019 He goes, \u2018I just got back to L.A. I\u2019m at my condominium.\u2019 He goes, \u2018I\u2019m fine, I\u2019m fine.\u2019 So I was like, oh my God, okay. So I write, I\u2019m coming over, like, I haven\u2019t seen you in like five days. What\u2019s going on? So I go over there, and that\u2019s where this whole thing happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Giuliana clarified the conversation started over the intercom after he didn\u2019t answer the doorbell and wouldn\u2019t let her inside. Then, she said Jerry came out onto the balcony because \u201che didn\u2019t want to see me in person.\u201d And that\u2019s when it happened. In a very \u201cdismissive\u201d and \u201ccold as ice\u201d way, he broke up with her:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHe didn\u2019t have enough courage to come down and see me face-to-face, like a foot away, and instead did it from a balcony. He broke up with me from a balcony. And I honestly thought it was because he was just like over it, done, and he was just like, bye. It was devastating, heartbreaking, humiliating. It was traumatizing. It truly was, and I just could not believe what I was hearing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>What she \u201cdid not know\u201d at the time? That Jerry had another woman in the apartment! In fact, it didn\u2019t cross her mind back then that would be the case! She only found out about that part when \u201che told his story\u201d on <strong>Kelly Ripa<\/strong>\u2018s podcast! OMG! Giuliana continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe whole thing was just crazy. Listen, at the end of the day, you know, here we are 22 years later and, obviously, we both moved on.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Things ultimately worked out for both of them. The only reason Giuliana\u2019s revisiting this is that she wanted to \u201cun-fuzz\u201d Jerry\u2019s memory:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI do love that Jerry is an open book, even if his memory is a little fuzzy. And the entire podcast that we\u2019re doing today is coming from a nice place. It\u2019s coming from a place of love. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. We are both happily married now, we both have great families, and we are both exactly where we\u2019re meant to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Unfortunately, Jerry didn\u2019t appear on the podcast episode to hash things out with Giuliana despite her invitation. Maybe they\u2019ll discuss their split together one day \u2014 and she\u2019ll get the in-person apology she rightfully deserves for this awful situation! We know Jerry is a great man these days, so we\u2019re sure if it\u2019s meant to be it\u2019ll happen!<\/p>\n<p>Reactions, Perezcious readers?
