She encouraged fans to support the film if they wished, but asked those who wanted to support her directly to purchase the books from independent bookstores. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the most surprising part of her statement was a series of screenshots showing messages she allegedly sent to Stenberg, telling the actor not to contact her or mention her publicly, before blocking her. The message appears to be from Feb. 28, 2025, and reads: &#8220;Do not ever use my name in an interview or video again. Do not text me. Even if the dream becomes a nightmare. No one, not this film or you, will ever take away what I achieved.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>That uncertainty has left fans in an unusual position. The film continues to generate excitement, buoyed by Prince-Bythewood&#8217;s reputation following\u00a0<em>The Woman King<\/em>, an acclaimed ensemble cast, and a trailer\u00a0widely praised online. At the same time, some readers say it&#8217;s difficult to separate that excitement from the knowledge that the creator of Or\u00efsha no longer wants her name associated with the adaptation.
