Opened in 2013, the restaurant became famous for its buttery lobster rolls, oyster platters, chowders, towering seafood spreads, plus its wave-shaped roof.<\/p>\n<p>But Connie &amp; Ted\u2019s could not outrun the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/28\/us-news\/coles-french-dip-shuts-doors-for-good-after-118-years-in-la\/\">city\u2019s crushing restaurant economics<\/a>. In a farewell message, the team behind the eatery blamed a perfect storm of pandemic fallout, rising costs and the increasingly difficult realities of operating in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Wolfgang Puck\u2019s Merois quietly closed its West Hollywood doors on May 1. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@meroiswesthollywood<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Merois<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/24\/us-news\/wolfgang-puck-says-openness-to-new-ideas-makes-america-great\/\">Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck<\/a> also lost a glitzy West Hollywood outpost. Merois, Puck\u2019s rooftop spot perched on top of the Sun Rose Hotel, quietly closed on May 1.<\/p>\n<p>The high-end eatery paired French techniques with Asian flavors and sweeping views of LA, but its closure followed the demise of Puck\u2019s Ospero at the same property in 2024.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nerano<\/h2>\n<p>Beverly Hills took another hit this month when upscale Italian favorite Nerano closed its doors July 25 after a decade in business. Brothers Carlo and Andy Brandon-Gordon opened the restaurant in 2016, and they are behind some of California\u2019s other well-known eateries including Toscana and S.Y. Kitchen.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Upscale Italian favorite Nerano closed its doors July 25 after a decade in business. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@neranobh<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Drake\u2019s Hollywood<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, Drake\u2019s Hollywood suddenly went dark in late July after just three years. The flashy West Hollywood restaurant shuttered the week of July 20, with employees reportedly receiving final paychecks as the restaurant was cleared out.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Drake\u2019s Hollywood suddenly went dark in late July after just three years. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@drakeshollywood<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cinque Terre West <\/h2>\n<p>Across town, Venice has been hit by its own wave of dining casualties. Cinque Terre West permanently closed its Rose Avenue location in June after owners Marlo and chef Gianbattista Vinzoni packed up and moved to Texas. <\/p>\n<p>The couple had already endured a devastating setback when their original Pacific Palisades restaurant was destroyed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/21\/us-news\/palisades-village-reopens-for-business-after-devastating-wildfires\/\">2025 Palisades Fire<\/a>. The closure came as a surprise to many locals who had embraced the late-night spot, famous for its signature VooDoo Doll doughnut, Bacon Maple Bars and other over-the-top creations.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Dialogue Cafe, usually crawling with influencers, suffered debilitating damage\u00a0after a water main break earlier this month. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@dialogcafe<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dialogue Cafe <\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/tag\/west-hollywood\/\">West Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0hotspot Dialogue Cafe, typically crawling with influencers, suffered debilitating damage\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/16\/us-news\/west-hollywood-water-main-break-floods-streets\/\">after a water-main break<\/a> earlier this month, with the location\u2019s future now uncertain.
