The benchmark only recently had topped 9,000 before toppling back to its lowest level since early April. <\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">SK Hynix sank 12.6% while shares in Samsung Electronics dropped 8%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Other Asian markets also mostly declined. <\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 1.8% to 61,038.63, giving up early gains. <\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Japanese stocks were mixed in their reaction to <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/japan-earthquake-kumamoto-kagoshima-mall-factory-6b0fe69d44fa5c82ac4765a8ad82ebf6\">a major earthquake that rattled the southern Kyushu region<\/a> a day earlier.
