News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1233984\/inside-shailene-woodley-and-aaron-rodgers-private-and-low-key-romance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exclusively revealed<\/a> he was dating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/shailene_woodley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Shailene<\/strong> <strong>Woodley<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the actress noted they&#8217;d been together for quite some time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We got engaged a while ago,&#8221; she said on a February 2021 episode of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=f9nBqR5b2AQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Tonight Show<\/em><\/a>. &#8220;He&#8217;s, first off, just a wonderful, incredible human being, but I never thought I&#8217;d be engaged to somebody who threw balls for a living.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Over the next year, fans got glimpses into Shailene and Aaron&#8217;s romance through photos of their vacations and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1256063\/aaron-rodgers-holds-shailene-woodley-close-while-enjoying-disney-world-together\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dates<\/a>, as well as through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1255899\/shailene-woodley-and-aaron-rodgers-share-rare-insight-into-their-life-together\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insights<\/a> the couple shared about their relationship on social media. But in 2022, they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1305400\/shailene-woodley-and-aaron-rodgers-break-up-one-year-after-announcing-engagement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">went their separate ways<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy,&#8221; she recalled to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outsideonline.com\/outdoor-adventure\/environment\/shailene-woodley-environmentalist\/?scope=anon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Outside<\/em><\/a> in 2024 while looking back two years prior. \u201cI really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While she didn&#8217;t go into specifics, Shailene told the outlet she&#8217;d stayed in a &#8220;toxic situation&#8221; because she was empathizing with \u201csomeone else.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And the <em>Divergent<\/em> alum noted it was hard for her to talk about her breakup with Aaron.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry,&#8221; she added.\u00a0 &#8220;It was not right.
