In the sequel, Wood is replaced by \u201cThe Act\u201d star Joey King, while Artrip\u2019s younger-sister character is played by \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d standout Maisie Williams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe sequel, out September 11, is adapted from \u201cThe Book of Magic\u201d by Alice Hoffman, a sequel to her own novel \u201cPractical Magic,\u201d which inspired the first film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI read the book and it seems like they\u2019re not following the book,\u201d Wood said. \u201cI think in the book it would have made sense to bring me back; I think in the way they\u2019re redoing it and approaching it, it didn\u2019t make sense.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis isn\u2019t the first time Wood has spoken out about the film; last year, she <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/evan-rachel-wood-says-shes-not-returning-for-practical-magic-2-11770991\" target=\"_blank\">wrote on Instagram<\/a>\u201d \u201cI offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are re-casting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tReturning cast members include leads Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters and fellow practitioners of magic, as well as Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest as their loopy aunts.
