The short follows Vasilly, whose jealousy over his best friend\u2019s sudden career success feeds a dark supernatural force growing within him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe intense pursuit of Krekis\u2019\u00a0<em>Jealous People<\/em>\u00a0speaks to the continued demand for elevated genre material from bold new voices following the outsized breakout success of Curry Barker\u2019s\u00a0<em>Obsession<\/em>\u00a0(Focus Features) and Kane Parson\u2019s\u00a0<em>Backrooms<\/em> (A24). Both of those titles, from young digital-first talent, broke records to become the highest-grossing in the history of their studios, leading to a feeding frenzy over next-generation digital horror IP and its creators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tKrekis will adapt his own work, directing from his own script. The Fold\u2019s Jennifer Monks and Michelle Stein will produce the feature take alongside Temple Hill Entertainment, whose Isaac Klausner, John Fischer, Ben Levine and Ethan Cappello will oversee. Josh Mack and Lauren Botchan are overseeing for New Line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA Greek\/British filmmaker, Krekis is currently developing his second feature with BBC Film. His original six-part television series\u00a0<em>Blossom<\/em>\u00a0is in development with Clerkenwell Films, and he\u2019s writing on a new series from the creator of\u00a0<em>Peaky Blinders<\/em>\u00a0for Kudos.
