Out October 30th, the project was produced by PC Music founder and frequent Charli xcx collaborator <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/artist\/a-g-cook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A. G. Cook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fans who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/diiv\/comments\/1v6d21r\/zirp_new_diiv_album_produced_by_ag_cook_out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">received business cards<\/a> in the mail from DIIV were directed to a hotline via a QR code. Those who dial the number (+1 229-798-9477) will hear a telemarketing message touting <em>ZIRP!<\/em> as \u201cthe future of alternative multimedia entertainment,\u201d meant to recruit those who want to \u201cchallenge assumptions,\u201d \u201ccreate entire new categories,\u201d and \u201cthink on a global scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not much else is known about the follow-up to 2024\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2024\/05\/diiv-frog-in-boiling-water-stream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Frog in Boiling Water<\/em><\/a> except for a description on the website, which hails the album as \u201cthe new alternative: a new genre for the 21st century.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/ffm.to\/diiv-futuresave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pre-saves<\/a> are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>DIIV\u2019s latest single, <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2025\/05\/diiv-new-song-return-of-youth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cReturn of Youth,\u201d<\/a> was released in May 2025. The track came after frontman Zachary Cole Smith lost his home in the devastating January LA wildfires and addresses the arrival of his second child with his wife in such turbulent times. More recently, the group dropped their experimental <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Boiled-Alive-Live-Teragram-Ballroom\/dp\/B0G49MGSRG?&amp;linkCode=ll2&amp;tag=conseofsound-20&amp;linkId=7b02f89f26935427dcf84c75b2e7b03b&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>Boiled Alive<\/em><\/a> concert film and live album this past January.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cook released his latest solo album, the 3x LP <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2024\/02\/a-g-cook-single-britpop-charli-xcx-stream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Britpop<\/em><\/a>, in 2024.
