Long Beach dipped 0.2%, while Anaheim lost 0.1%.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Los Angeles-Long Beach\u2014Anaheim metro major driver in the flight.<\/p>\n<p>A previous California Post story on a California Policy Lab report found <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/24\/real-estate\/the-state-benefiting-most-from-californias-stunning-exodus\/\">Nevada was benefiting from California\u2019s exodus<\/a> at a higher rate than any other state.<\/p>\n<p>From 2016 to 2025, Nevada gained a net 81 Californian\u2019s per 10,000 residents each year, outpacing Texas on a per-capita basis.<\/p>\n<p>The report found Californians who left the state moved to neighborhoods where monthly housing costs were $672 lower on average than the communities they left behind.<\/p>\n<p>Home prices in their new neighborhoods were also 48% lower on average.<\/p>\n<p>That gap has helped make Las Vegas an obvious landing spot for Californians looking for cheaper homes, no state income tax and a lower overall cost of living.<\/p>\n<p>The new Realtor.com report also showed where Las Vegas-area home searchers are looking after browsing their own market.<\/p>\n<p>Smith told the Review-Journal that outbound searches from Las Vegas are more spread out than the concentrated interest coming in from Southern California and the Bay Area.<\/p>\n<p>For Las Vegas, California\u2019s housing pain has helped power demand.<\/p>\n<p>But it has also fed complaints from locals who blame Golden State transplants for pushing up prices and reshaping the valley\u2019s housing market.<\/p>\n<p>The latest data suggests that cross-state tension is not
