Otherwise, Silver said most Trump content is now dull \u2014 and suggested it may be a sign the U.S. is ditching the president as the newsmaker-in-chief.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s kind of striking how, apart from Iran, most of the Trump-related stories this summer have been boring and dumb (reflection pool, White House Correspondents&#8217; Dinner) or kind of funny (FIFA),&#8221; Silver posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NateSilver538\/status\/2081401835579985946\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a>. He added,\u00a0 &#8220;maybe we&#8217;re moving on from him being the central figure in American politics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Silver pointed to some good recent examples of Trump in the news, like him lobbying FIFA boss\u00a0<strong>Gianni Infantino<\/strong> to cancel the\u00a0controversial red card against USA striker\u00a0<strong>Folarin Balogun<\/strong> in the World Cup. The move ended up not mattering much, with the American squad getting smoked 4-1 by Belgium in the next game. Still, Trump praised Infantino for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/sports\/trump-praises-fifa-boss-for-canceling-controversial-balogun-red-card-great-decision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the &#8220;great decision&#8221;<\/a> and boasted the U.S. had officially morphed into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/sports\/trump-boasts-usa-has-morphed-into-a-soccer-country-during-glowing-event-with-fifa-boss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a &#8220;soccer country.&#8221;\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>More recently, Trump made fun of CNN anchor <strong>Kaitlan Collins<\/strong> at the White House Correspondents&#8217; Dinner on Friday by saying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/she-never-smiles-trump-attacks-cnns-kaitlan-collins-at-whcd-compares-her-to-trans-influencer-dylan-mulvaney\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">she looked like trans influencer<\/a> <strong>Dylan Mulvaney<\/strong>. The joke enraged many liberals and media figures.<\/p>\n<p>Silver dished his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/politics\/nate-silver-makes-his-prediction-on-how-likely-it-is-dems-will-win-the-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2026 midterm predictions<\/a> during a June \u00a0interview on the<em> All-In Podcast. <\/em>He said prediction markets have Democrats at 80-85% odds to win back the House, and 40-45% to take control of the Senate;. Silver said those are \u201cpretty reasonable,\u201d but that it was \u201ca little bit low\u201d on what he projects for the House. Silver said he gives the Dems an 85-90% shot at retaking the House.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The House is the one where kind of everything points in the same direction.
