The movie also featured Gosling\u2019s longtime partner Eva Mendes as Roxanne Simpson. Although Cage reprised his role in the 2011 sequel, \u201cGhost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,\u201d Mendes did not return for that movie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2007 film was not well received and has only a 28% rating on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/ghost_rider\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. Scott Huver of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywood.com\/review\/Ghost_Rider\/3657974\">Hollywood.com<\/a> called it \u201cthe worst adaptation of a Marvel Comics hero yet,\u201d while Mike Barnard of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.futuremovies.co.uk\/review.asp?ID=675\">Future Movies UK<\/a> said that \u201cCage needs to produce something special next to make up for crimes against cinema.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, not all critics hated the movie. Megan Basham of <a href=\"https:\/\/world.wng.org\/2007\/03\/campy_fire\">WORLD<\/a> said, \u201cThis strange amalgamation of Texas Ranger lore, NASCAR bravado, and the-Devil-and-Daniel-Webster trickery keeps the campy fun revving just enough that you can\u2019t completely hate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-this-new-ghost-rider-will-be-directed-by-shawn-levy\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">This New Ghost Rider Will Be Directed By Shawn Levy<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shawn Levy, who directed the 2024 Marvel movie \u201cDeadpool and Wolverine,\u201d will be directing the new Ghost Rider film. He previously worked with Gosling in \u201cStar Wars: Starfighter,\u201d which will be released in theaters in May 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the Marvel panel at SDCC, Levy took the stage alongside Gosling and Feige. \u201cI\u2019m having the greatest flashback vibes here, because I was here two years ago when we showed\u00a0<em>Deadpool &amp; Wolverine<\/em>,\u201d\u00a0he told the crowd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019ll never forget that night, because I was introduced to the greatest fans. Gosling is the absolute sh-t.
