In using Barlow, HBO Max\u2019s former EVP originals marketing, as an example, the company notes that her contract was not set to expire until Oct. 31, 2027. Barlow was announced as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/amazon-mgm-studios\/\" id=\"auto-tag_amazon-mgm-studios_1\" data-tag=\"amazon-mgm-studios\">Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>\u2018 new head of original series marketing on Friday, when most outlets began reporting on the suit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThough it was aware of Barlow\u2019s ongoing contractual commitment to WMS, of which WBD is a beneficiary, Amazon has brazenly and deliberately induced Barlow to breach the employment agreement by packing up and decamping to Amazon more than 16 months before its expiration,\u201d the suit reads. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWarner Bros. also alleges in the filing that \u201cBarlow is not the first (<em>nor, apparently, the last<\/em>) WBD employee that Amazon has targeted or will target in the future.\u201d The suit alleges that \u201ca few weeks before Amazon\u2019s interference with Barlow\u2019s term employment contract with WMS, Amazon similarly endeavored to tortiously induce another WBD employee to breach their term employment agreement, which was not set to expire until December 2027.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cFortunately, in that instance, Amazon ultimately was unsuccessful in its efforts to raid WBD\u2019s workforce as to that particular executive,\u201d the suit continues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWarner Bros. is seeking compensatory damages, punitive damages and injunctive relief. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<script async=\"async\" data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/pl30214220.effectivecpmnetwork.com\/9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div id=\"container-9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\"><\/div>\r\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Warner Bros.
