According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/07\/08\/marcellus-wiley-sued-by-bank-months-before-arrest\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">TMZ<\/a>, the Columbia University alum was sued by a bank for allegedly failing to pay on a $500,000 loan. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lawsuit states that Marcellus and his \u201cDat Dude Entertainment\u201d media company allegedly took out a loan from Preferred Bank in the summer of 2023 and reportedly agreed to repay it in one year. To make matters worse, Annemarie told police that it wasn\u2019t the first time Marcellus had physically harmed her.
