Or what\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0become.\u00a0So\u00a0I thought\u00a0it\u2019d\u00a0be cool to try to be Bob Dylan for a night.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0trying to turn Bon into Bob.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Friday, Vernon also played a separate, unannounced set of Bon Iver material.<\/p>\n<p>The surprise solo performance was billed simply as \u201cBon\u201d and replaced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/kevin-morby\">Kevin Morby<\/a>\u2019s scheduled appearance after the singer-songwriter withdrew from the festival following the birth of his first child with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/waxahatchee\">Waxahatchee<\/a>\u2019s Katie Crutchfield.<\/p>\n<p>Vernon opened by covering Morby\u2019s \u2018Die Young\u2019,\u00a0before playing Bon Iver songs including \u2018Beach Baby\u2019,\u00a0\u2018Flume\u2019,\u00a0\u2018Speyside\u2019 and\u00a0\u2018Re: Stacks\u2019.\u00a0The seven-song set also included the early rarity \u2018Hayward, WI\u2019 and \u2018Room\u00a0To\u00a0Spare\u2019,\u00a0an unreleased tribute to the\u00a0late\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/john-prine\">John Prine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It marked Vernon\u2019s first full set of his own material since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/bon-iver-us-tour-2023-dates-tickets-3406268\">Bon Iver completed their touring commitments in 2023<\/a>.
