ahead of the All-Star game, she had &#8220;skipped&#8221; it, &#8220;opting to get her hair done in her hometown of Des Moines.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Caitlin Clark skipped the WNBA Orange Carpet on Thursday, opting to get her hair done in her hometown of Des Moines. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9z3qjCS7EU\">https:\/\/t.co\/9z3qjCS7EU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 USA TODAY (@USATODAY) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/USATODAY\/status\/2080594075133038779?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 24, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The article accompanying the post included a link to <strong>Bella Grundy<\/strong>, Clark&#8217;s hairdresser, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/wnba\/2026\/07\/24\/caitlin-clark-absent-wnba-orange-carpet-explanation\/91032821007\/?taid=6a6337d909ccf10001f1c57d&amp;utm_campaign=trueanthem&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted photos on Instagram of the basketball phenom<\/a> in her salon chair, in West Des Moines, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>X users quickly jumped in, pointing out Clark was actually &#8220;hosting a charity dinner in her hometown.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Indiana Fever superstar was actually at an event for the Caitlin Clark Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet then <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/USATODAY\/status\/2080706812928749849\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">issued a clarification.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Clarification: Caitlin Clark was attending an event for the Caitlin Clark Foundation, which is why she missed the WNBA All-Star Weekend Orange Carpet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The incident comes after a USA Today columnist made headlines this week for bizarrely comparing Clark&#8217;s &#8220;flopping&#8221;
