the singer at her home, leaving her \u201cin fear for her life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Cuban-born Ojani married J-Lo in 1997, a year after a passionate whirlwind meeting but they split 11 months later as 56, in 1999 but the toxic couple ended their tumultuous relationship in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Now her relationship with Diddy has come into the spotlight again after he was accused of running a sex-trafficking ring and convicted last year of engaging in two counts of transportation for prostitution.<\/p>\n<p>Ojani, a 52-year-old personal trainer living in Florida, today discloses for the first time the explosive moment he stepped in to protect his ex-wife from the Bad Boy Records founder.<\/p>\n<p>He recalls: \u201cIt was the year she dumped him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were still friends and we had decided to start over again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone makes mistakes and deserves to be forgiven once.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe had tried to dump Diddy before and he had threatened her and her Jennifer had thrown for her \u2014 and everyone was shocked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went over to him and told him to leave and he told me to back off. He asked me who I was, to which I replied, \u2018F*** you\u2019. I told him he had slept with my wife. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJennifer got in between us. She said he would leave but he didn\u2019t. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got upset with her and at the end of the night she got in his car and left.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The dramatic showdown at the party was only the beginning of a terrifying campaign of intimidation. <\/p>\n<p>Ojani says that a few weeks later Jennifer \u2014 who has always remained notoriously tight-lipped in public about her dark <span id=\"6e143805-21ab-4798-9795-5317bd33bf25\" class=\"suggested-link\">history<\/span> with Diddy \u2014 called him, \u201cterrified\u201d after the rapper turned up at her Los Angeles home and began screaming her name. <\/p>\n<p>He reveals: \u201cShe said she was scared and afraid so I instantly left work and came over. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I got there it was pitch black and I couldn\u2019t see anyone, so he must have been hiding. As I drove in he started shouting and telling her he knew I was inside. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s when I fronted him up. But I told him to his face that he was a coward. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why he was always with bodyguards with guns because anyone could take him one on one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ojani arrived in the US illegally aged 15, after making the 90-mile trip from his home in Cuba to Florida with six friends on a homemade raft.<\/p>\n<p>Washing dishes at Latin pop singer Gloria Estefan\u2019s Miami restaurant, Larios On The Beach, the ambitious 22-year-old worked his way up to become head waiter.<\/p>\n<p>It was there that he first locked eyes with Jennifer, then 27. The pair hit it off immediately and Ojani packed up his life to move to Los Angeles to be with her.<\/p>\n<p>He famously asked her to marry him with a diamond ring during the crowded wrap party for her breakout film Selena.<\/p>\n<p>Lucrative offers came flooding in for J-Lo from the entertainment industry, including a multi-million-dollar record deal from Sony music mogul Tommy Mottola.<\/p>\n<p>But that meteoric rise to the top was the moment things started to unravel between the newlyweds.<\/p>\n<p>Ojani says: \u201cEverything was great and we were so in love.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in charge of launching a nightclub in LA called The Conga Room which was part-owned by Jen, while she went off to make her debut album \u2014 On The 6 \u2014 in New York and Miami. That was when Diddy was drafted in to help produce several tracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey knew each other way before the media reported they did.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe started hanging out with Diddy more and more, and I started seeing her less and less.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen the rumours started. I still had a lot of friends working in Miami hotels who would call to say they had seen them hanging out and leaving together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe would tell me it was just work. But then a picture appeared in the US magazines of her sitting on Diddy\u2019s lap at the <span id=\"6376ffef-7663-4b76-8310-b02122c32121\" class=\"suggested-link\">pool<\/span> of Miami Beach Hotel. We started to fight really badly as I knew she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/15369598\/jennifer-lopez-accused-cheating-ex-husband-ojani-noa\/\" rel=\"\">cheating<\/a> on me.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16746841\" class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-caption alignnone aligncenter\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span>Ojani said that when J-Lo started hanging out with Diddy more and more, he started seeing her less and less<\/span> <span class=\"credit\">Credit: Getty<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16746842\" class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-caption alignnone aligncenter\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span>Her ex said J-Lo was \u201cterrified\u201d after the rapper turned up at her Los Angeles home and began screaming her name<\/span> <span class=\"credit\">Credit: AFP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Desperate for answers, Ojani took a six-hour flight from Los Angeles to Miami to sneak past security into Jennifer\u2019s luxury hotel suite.<\/p>\n<p>He waited for hours to challenge her face-to-face.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was on her own,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut she was shocked I was there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told her again she was cheating and we got into a massive fight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <span id=\"d913bc85-9c6b-4416-8ec2-630fa2b9296d\" class=\"suggested-link\">next<\/span> morning she went to the studio and I went back to Los Angeles. She rang me and said I couldn\u2019t do that again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the marriage crumbled, Jennifer\u2019s public relations machine was working overtime to present a picture of domestic bliss to the world.<\/p>\n<p>Ojani says an appearance on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/who\/oprah-winfrey\/\">Oprah Winfrey<\/a> Show, where a beaming J-Lo told millions of viewers that she was \u201chappily married\u201d, was the final straw.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe went to the Oscars and she was using me so she could pretend to everyone that everything was OK. It wasn\u2019t. So we got divorced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was the first of Jen\u2019s four divorces.
