The series will also be available on PBS\u2019s website and app and Nova\u2019s YouTube channel, among other places.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201c\u2019Evolution\u2019 is an epic tale revealing the twists and turns of our existence over billions of years,\u201d reads the synopsis. \u201cIn this landmark series\u2014featuring passionate scientists, gorgeous photography, and stunning animations of long-lost ancestors\u2014discover how every animal we know and love today sprang from creatures that looked nothing like them. This landmark series follows five of these remarkable stories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe series will draw on genetic analysis and fossil records across varying regions and environments, combined with photography and animation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cEvolution can feel like an abstract concept, but the stories at the heart of this series make it viscerally real,\u201d said co-executive producer Chris Schmidt. \u201cWhether it\u2019s tracing how the first light-sensing cells eventually led to a dolphin\u2019s brain wired for complex thought, or how ancient jaw bones became the bones in our ears \u2014 these are discoveries that fundamentally change how you see your own body and every living thing around you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCo-executive producer Julia Cort added: \u201cEvery animal alive today is connected by a single thread of ancestry stretching back billions of years, and yet the creatures that gave rise to modern life would be almost unrecognizable to us today. This series gives viewers a front-row seat to these extraordinary chains of events \u2014 mutations, adaptations, and evolutionary leaps \u2014 that ultimately produced the astonishing diversity of life on our planet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe episodes will include:<\/p>\n<div class=\"container \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cBrain Power\u201d looking at the evolutionary story of the dolphin to examine how brains have developed<\/li>\n<li>\u201cNeed to Feed\u201d follows the evolution of the bat to discover the untold story of eating<\/li>\n<li>\u201cBody Builders\u201d looking at how single cells grew to a variety of sizes, from fish to elephants<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe Mating Game\u201d will examine the origins of males and females as well as the use of feathers in courtship<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOn the Run\u201d follows the evolution of the horse to look at how animals move<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cNova: Evolution\u201d is a BBC Studios Science Unit Production with \u201cNova\u201d and GBH for PBS and BBC.<br \/>Series Producer is Milla Harrison-Hansley.
