Doctors discovered the disease during a routine mammogram &#8211; and she underwent surgery to have the cancer removed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Following the announcement of her diagnosis, Lisa was met with a wall of support &#8211; and she issued a further statement to thank those that had sent her messages of encouragement. She said: &#8220;Thank you for all of your support and your lovely messages. I promise I will read every word. So many of you going through this or know someone who is.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">She added: &#8220;Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.&#8221; She previously issued an online message where she gave insight into her cancer battle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, she shared: &#8220;I just wanted to come on because I know I&#8217;ve been quiet on here. The reason being, that I&#8217;ve had to have surgery because I&#8217;ve had the very early stages of breast cancer. I had surgery two weeks ago and it was quite a big op. But it&#8217;s all good and I&#8217;ve had my results back and they&#8217;ve got everything out so it&#8217;s all clear and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;I just wanted to say I&#8217;ve got a bit of healing to do but I&#8217;m good, I&#8217;m well and feeling so much better and I&#8217;m so grateful that I went for my mammogram. Don&#8217;t put them off &#8211; go! They found this, and without that mammogram, it wouldn&#8217;t have been picked up. And I want to say thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact that we can have these mammograms, get treatment early and treated quickly. I will see you all soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">John has had a troubling year himself &#8211; having been sacked from MasterChef following accusations of inappropriate behaviour on the set of the hit BBC show. Although he lost his job for the alleged incident &#8211; which involved racist language &#8211; the BBC decided to press ahead with airing Christmas special episodes that featured him, while John stated he did not recall the incident in question.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A BBC spokesperson said at the time of John&#8217;s sacking in October last year: &#8220;[Production company] Banijay UK has consulted the celebrities, contestants and guests featured and all have confirmed that they are happy for the shows to be aired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;As we have said previously, these are not straightforward decisions.
