He was 74-years-old. As of right now, a cause of death has not bee disclosed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following <strong>Chuck<\/strong>\u2018s death, <strong>Jim<\/strong>, 64, released a statement to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/07\/jim-carrey-chuck-russell-the-mask-1237003343\/\">Deadline<\/a><\/em> mourning the filmmaker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI consider it a privilege to have worked with Chuck Russell, who during the shooting of <em>The Mask,<\/em> created an ebullient, childlike atmosphere of wonder and camaraderie on his set,\u201d <strong>Jim<\/strong> said. \u201cThe entire cast and crew were touched and inspired by his playfulness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEvery one of us has been many years blessed by that buoyant and timeless moment,\u201d he considered. \u201cI consider <em>The Mask<\/em> one of the jewels of my creative life. Thank you, Chuck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jim<\/strong> starred in the 1994 comedy alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/tags\/cameron-diaz\/\" class=\"celebrity-tag-link\"><strong class=\"celebrity-tag-strong\">Cameron Diaz<\/strong><\/a> in her acting debut.
