CTE Foundation announced on July 7 that researchers at Boston University\u2019s CTE Center examined Kneeland\u2019s brain tissue after his death and identified early-stage CTE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, I was not surprised to find CTE in the brain of Mr. Kneeland, because we have found this progressive brain disease in nearly half of the athletes we\u2019ve studied who have died before the age of 30,\u201d Dr. Ann McKee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/49296262\/late-cowboys-player-marshawn-kneeland-diagnosed-cte\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>McKee added that the findings underscore the need for continued research into the disease and its effects on young athletes.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DR-ssG4jh6F\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF;
