As Bettencourt mentions in his post, he would have been following in the footsteps of legends Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, and Zakk Wylde as lead guitarist for the metal icon.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>His full post reads as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\u201cI\u2019ve had the most blessed career.<br \/>Yes.. ups and downs. But I have no regrets\u2026 except one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">That I turned Ozzy down when I was asked to be his guitarist in \u201995.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">It was my dream to be his guitarist as a teenager and I know why I turned it down as Extreme was in full effect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">BUT \u2026 I truly regret it \u2026 because I have never stopped fantasizing about the incredible music and albums we might have made together\u2026 especially built on the shoulders of the iconic BIG 3 before me\u2026 Randy, Jake E., Wylde.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Just being asked is still without a doubt one of the greatest honors of my life.<br \/>A crazy and unreachable childhood dream that came true.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Only if I had \u2026.
