The film was released in between <em>John Wick: Chapter 4<\/em> and <em>The Super Mario Bros. In an interview with <em>ScreenRant<\/em>&#8216;s Ash Crossan at San Diego Comic-Con, the filmmaker admitted that he and his co-writers were hired to write a screenplay for a <em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons<\/em> sequel.<\/p>\n<p>A script does exist, but Goldstein isn&#8217;t sure if he&#8217;ll get the chance to help bring it to life on the big screen due to &#8220;<em>financial reasons<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As he acknowledged, &#8220;<em>They&#8217;re expensive movies to make, but it&#8217;d be great fun to do it<\/em>.&#8221; He loved working with the cast on <em>Honor Among Thieves<\/em>, and the script he co-wrote is something he believes &#8220;<em>fans would like<\/em>&#8221; to see.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We actually wrote a sequel to Dungeons and Dragons. We were hired to write it. I don&#8217;t know that it will see the light of day for a number of financial reasons. They&#8217;re expensive movies to make, but it&#8217;d be great fun to do it. We love that cast, and we think we wrote something that fans would like.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-ending-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons: Honor Among Thieves<\/em><\/a> starred Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Reg\u00e9-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis, Justice Smith, Hugh Grant, Chloe Coleman, Jason Wong and Bradley Cooper. Pine and Rodriguez&#8217;s characters, Ed Darvis and Holga Kilgore, are criminals who escape from prison and attempt to steal a magical relic.<\/p>\n<p>The film may have failed to light up the box office, but <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/dungeons-dragons-honor-among-thieves-2023-movie-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">critics showered <em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons: Honor Among Thieves<\/em> with overwhelming praise<\/a> and a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score currently sits at 92%.<\/p>\n<p>It was nominated for Best Fantasy Film at the Saturn Awards, and Goldstein won a Hugo Award with co-director John Francis Daley and their co-screenwriter Michael Gilio in the category of Best Dramatic Presentation (Long Form).<\/p>\n<p>Goldstein and Daley have talked in the past about potentially continuing the franchise in some way, and Paramount Pictures&#8217; Brian Robbins expressed interest in a sequel but with budget cuts. However, Robbins is no longer in charge of Paramount Pictures, and with Paramount&#8217;s acquisition of Warner Bros., it&#8217;s unclear if the company is still open to <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/dungeons-dragons-2-cast-story-details-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons 2<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/upcoming-dungeons-and-dragons-tv-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons<\/em> TV show spinoff<\/a> was in development a few years ago. While Paramount eventually dropped the project, Netflix picked up the series under the title <em>The Forgotten Realms<\/em>. As of February 2025, Drew Crevello was on board as showrunner, executive producer and writer, with Shawn Levy and Dan Levine on the producing team as well.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Dungeons &amp; Dragons: Honor Among Thieves<\/strong><\/em> may live on via a TV spinoff, but its big-screen future remains up in the air, per Goldstein&#8217;s latest update.<\/p>\n<div class=\"display-card type-screen
