{"id":15708,"date":"2026-07-24T12:41:29","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T07:41:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=15708"},"modified":"2026-07-24T12:41:29","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T07:41:29","slug":"charli-xcx-returns-with-music-fashion-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=15708","title":{"rendered":"Charli XCX Returns With &#8216;Music, Fashion, Film&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFollowing much anticipation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/charli-xcx\/\" id=\"auto-tag_charli-xcx_1\" data-tag=\"charli-xcx\">Charli XCX<\/a> is officially back with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/music\/\" id=\"auto-tag_music_1\" data-tag=\"music\">Music<\/a>, Fashion, Film<\/em>, her seventh album overall and her first since her seminal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-news\/charli-xcx-brat-one-year-anniversary-pop-culture-impact-1236256119\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Brat<\/em> took over the world<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhile she hasn\u2019t technically released a solo album since then, pop\u2019s most trendsetting auteur has been certifiably, emphatically, Not On A Break. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThe second people are getting sick of you, that\u2019s when you have to go even harder,\u201d Kylie Jenner, playing a fictionalized version of herself, told Charli in one of the most-memorable parts of her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-features\/charli-xcx-the-moment-exclusive-1236478208\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mockumentary film <em>The Moment<\/em><\/a>, which came out back in January. Whether that was meant to be delivered with sincerity or irony, it certainly carries some level of poignancy of how Charli has operated since <em>Brat <\/em>summer started.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tShe released <em>Brat\u2019<\/em>s deluxe version three days after the original album drop, then the <em>Brat and It\u2019s Completely Different but Also Still Brat<\/em> remix album in October. She embarked on two headlining arena tours \u2014 the Sweat Tour with Troye Sivan, and her eponymous Brat Tour. She\u2019s had roles in seven different feature films: <em>The Moment, <\/em>where she starred and produced, as well as <em>100 Nights of Hero<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Sacrifice<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Erupcja<\/em>, <em>I Want Your Sex, The Gallerist <\/em>and <em>Faces of Death. <\/em>She also created the soundtrack for <em>Wuthering Heights <\/em>and co-wrote the soundtrack for the Anne Hathaway-starring <em>Mother Mary <\/em>with Jack Antonoff. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThat exhaustive resume alone certainly puts Charli firmly in contention as one of Hollywood\u2019s hardest working stars, and with <em>Music, Fashion, Film<\/em> officially here, that\u2019s not stopping any time soon. Charli is ramping up for another extensive tour, with festival headlining dates at Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Reading and Leeds over the next month, then more arena dates starting in the fall. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI was really, really ready to peace out and take a break and not make music,\u201d she told <em>Rolling Stone <\/em>in the magazine\u2019s June cover story. \u201cI felt very creatively drained and not inspired to write anything new. Then suddenly, inspiration came.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCharli started the <em>Music, Fashion, Film<\/em> era seeking to distance herself from the dance floors where <em>Brat<\/em> held court, declaring that \u201cthe dance floor is dead\u201d on the more polarizing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-news\/charli-xcx-returns-with-new-single-rock-music-1236589941\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lead single \u201cRock Music.\u201d<\/a> She followed that with the vibey, synth-y \u201cSS26,\u201d the equally summery, cheekier \u201cWink Wink,\u201d and most-recent single \u201cCamera,\u201d which featured a music video starring Vincent Cassel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWith <em>Music, Fashion, Film<\/em> firmly in focus, the next few months present an interesting chapter into how Charli enters her most-anticipated era to date. <em>Brat <\/em>turned Charli XCX from niche iconoclast to mainstream icon. It\u2019d be tempting to milk that well dry \u2014 it\u2019s hard to imagine <em>any <\/em>artist replicating the moment Charli created with <em>Brat<\/em> anytime soon \u2014 but she\u2019s never been one to dwell too long on the past with her work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAs she told <em>Rolling Stone <\/em>in June: \u201cI knew when I was making it that I was never going to make that record again.
