Karen O brings a more restrained, luxurious take to the song, yearning through the chorus as she lands on the concluding plea, \u201cDoes anybody know how to mend a broken heart?\u201d It\u2019s not the first time the Yeah Yeah Yeahs vocalist has contributed to an Avalanches song, having previously guested on 2020\u2019s \u201cDial D For Devotion.\u201d \u201cBlue Shadows,\u201d though, features a much more comprehensive and touching turn from Karen O and The Avalanches. Listen below.<\/p>\n<p>The Avalanches have been teasing their fourth album for the last several months, but they\u2019ve yet to formally announce the follow-up to 2020\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2020\/12\/album-review-the-avalanches-we-will-always-love-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>We Will Always Love You<\/em><\/a>. So far, they\u2019ve revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/05\/the-avalanches-release-single-together\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cTogether\u201d<\/a> featuring Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza, and Prentiss, and the more upbeat Jamie xx collaboration <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/06\/the-avalanches-release-every-single-weekend-stream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cEvery Single Weekend.\u201d<\/a> They also recently announced a lone show in New York set for October 22nd, marking their first live show in the US in four years.
