When an alien attack pushes Carl and the remaining survivors of humanity underground into a televised competition for their freedom, Carl teams up with Donut as his partner in the deadly game show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHays is <a rel=\"nofollow\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OIYfa1wVzJY\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OIYfa1wVzJY\" target=\"_blank\">well known to fans as the voice of Donut<\/a> \u2014 and every other \u201cDCC\u201d character \u2014 in the audiobook versions. His addition to the \u201cDungeon Crawler Carl\u201d TV series, which was announced Thursday during the Penguin Random House\u2019s \u201cSpotlight on Matt Dinniman\u201d panel at San Diego Comic-Con, marks the first casting news since the <a data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/dungeon-crawler-carl-series-order-peacock-1236785705\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/dungeon-crawler-carl-series-order-peacock-1236785705\/\">show was ordered to series at Peacock last month<\/a>. (However, actor Seth Green has already <a data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/dungeon-crawler-carl-tv-series-seth-green-mordecai-1236810542\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/dungeon-crawler-carl-tv-series-seth-green-mordecai-1236810542\/\">publicly thrown his hat in the dungeon<\/a> to join, too.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe series will be led by Chris Yost as writer and showrunner. Yost will executive produce alongside MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Rachel Hargreaves-Heald for Fuzzy Door. Dinniman is co-executive producer. Welcome to Dungeon Crawler World: Earth, where the apocalypse will be televised \u2026 and Coast Guard vet Carl finds himself stuck with his ex-girlfriend\u2019s award-winning show cat, Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk, as they try to survive the end of the world, fighting monsters, aliens, an insane A.I. and even other survivors \u2026 all for the sake of good TV. Survival is optional. Entertainment is not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDinniman\u2019s \u201cDungeon Crawler Carl\u201d series \u2014 which currently consists of eight books out of a total of 10 planned novels \u2014 has sold more than 14 million copies across all formats.
