style=\"font-weight: 400;\">olkswagen Tiguan SUV with 14-year-olds Olive Koren and Marley Barclay, and 15-year-olds Sienna Katz, Josalynn Osborn, and Ada Kepsey as passengers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only she and Barclay survived the crash after the she veered off the road and slammed into a tree, engulfing the car in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/mess-around-find-out-stories\/\" class=\" staff-link\">fireball<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the pair claimed that an oncoming the time, her lawyer, Charles Dresow, argued investigators had mishandled and damaged the vehicle\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/unusual-mechanic-shop-finds\/\" class=\" Barclay \u201cdestroyed notes\u201d and lost the audio recording of her interview.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Officers Jonathan Bruggs and Erik Carrillo testified that they took notes during the interview, then threw them out after filing their report.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding the audio interview, they said they recorded it with a wireless microphone that was supposed to transmit it to devices in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boredpanda.com\/police-officers-instant-karma-stories\/\" class=\" staff-link\">patrol cars<\/a>, but
