Hope you had a beautiful day (sic)&#8230;\u00a0<\/span>Wonderful, happy news.. congratulations (sic).&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In 2024, Sean &#8211; who was previously in a relationship with Susie Fenwick &#8211; was set to return to Corrie as Martin Platt and reunite with his on-screen wife Helen Worth for her alter ego Gail Platt&#8217;s departure from Weatherfield on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He\u00a0had already filmed scenes with Helen, before he was told he was being axed from the show pending the police inquiry into an allegation of indecent assault from 1997 &#8211; yet was not told any of the details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He was cleared by police shortly after with authorities reportedly saying no further action would be taken over the claim &#8211; made by a woman with links to the soap.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Speaking to The Sun, Sean said: &#8216;My reputation was ruined in just eight minutes \u2014 my whole world blown apart. I had no idea who had made this complaint or anything about it but I lost my job. It&#8217;s been hell. I was away in Africa for Christmas. I&#8217;m trying to get back to normal. It&#8217;s a case of taking each day at a time.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Sean hopes that the circumstances surrounding his sudden departure from Coronation Street do not have an adverse effect on his acting career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He said: &#8216;We are hoping everything that&#8217;s happened won&#8217;t affect my career. My agent and I are working hard on trying to create a continuing stream of work. We are trying to find our feet again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;I&#8217;m not the one levering any situation.
