The veteran Swedish metal band has also released new single \u201cGjallarhorn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGjallarhorn\u201d showcases the band\u2019s iconic melodic death metal sound, this time beefed up with aspects of modern thrash metal. Sonically, it\u2019s reminiscent of their albums <em>Twilight of the Thunder God\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Surtur Risin<\/em><em>g<\/em>, with a distinctly epic feel to it befitting a song about the horn that signals the end of the world.<\/p>\n<p>The song carries just enough technical flash to make it exciting and somewhat unpredictable without overshadowing either the melodic strength or the pummeling pace of it. \u201cGjallarhorn\u201d is pitch-perfect Amon Amarth, being perfectly sculpted power metal beefed up with heavy thrashing guitars and production and death metal vocals.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>Guitarist Olavi Mikkonen said of the album, \u201cWe worked on one song at a time and made each song as good as possible. Then we recorded one song at a time until each track was totally finished\u2013drums, guitars, and vocals. Only then did we start on the next one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The band previously released the singles <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2025\/07\/amon-amarth-new-song-we-rule-the-waves-stream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cWe Rule the Waves,\u201d<\/a> which we named one of our <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2025\/07\/heavy-song-of-the-week-the-armed-sharp-teeth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heavy Songs of the Week<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/amon-amarth-first-acoustic-song-upphaf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cUpphaf\u201d<\/a> preceding news of the album, showcasing a wider sonic variety this time around than they have shown before, including their first ever acoustic track even if it is still as stoic and stern as their heavier tracks.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Allfather Awaits<\/em> is available for pre-order in a variety of vinyl variants and bundles via the band\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/us.amonamarth.shop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">official merch store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Amon Amarth have also announced a revamped stage production, swapping out their iconic longboat for one based on the golden hall of Oden.
