That is because Wonder Project\u2019s faith-based family drama will not be getting a second season by <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/prime-video\/\" id=\"auto-tag_prime-video\" data-tag=\"prime-video\">Prime Video<\/a>, Deadline has learned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe news comes more than a month and a half after <em>It\u2019s Not Like That<\/em> was released globally on Prime Video. The series is part of the streamer\u2019s ongoing collaboration with Wonder Project, which also is behind <em>House of David.<\/em> Both faith-based dramas launch exclusively on Wonder Project\u2019s Prime Video add-on subscription channel first; <em>It\u2019s Not Like That <\/em>debuted on the service January 25 before getting a wide release on Prime Video on May 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em>House of David<\/em>, whose second season premiered on the Wonder Project add-on in November and on Prime Video in late March, is getting a third season, I hear. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>RELATED: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/lists\/most-anticipated-tv-shows-2026\/\" data-type=\"pmc_list\" data-id=\"1236649275\"><strong>45 Of The Most Anticipated New &amp; Returning Scripted Shows of 2026<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWhile the two series were commissioned by the previous Prime Video regime, Amazon MGM Studios Head of Global TV Peter Friedlander has longstanding relationship with Wonder Project CEO Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten from their time together at Netflix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe cancellation of <em>It\u2019s Not Like That<\/em> is somewhat surprising. In addition to its strong reviews, it seems to have been doing well. Prime Video is not releasing viewership numbers, but it started putting out weekly Top 10 rankings, and the first one, which came out June 3, featured <em>It\u2019s Not Like That<\/em> at No. 9 on the global series list.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe drama also has remained a fixture on Prime Video\u2019s Daily Top 10 series list in the U.S., currently at No. 5.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFrom <em>Parenthood<\/em> alums Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, <em>It\u2019s Not Like That <\/em>followed Malcolm (Foley), a pastor who is a recently widowed dad of three, and Lori (Hayes), a newly divorced mom of two teens, as they navigate their newly minted singledom with parenthood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>RELATED: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/feature\/2026-tv-premiere-dates-1236391902\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1236391902\"><strong>2026 Premiere Dates For New &amp; Returning Series On Broadcast, Streaming &amp; Cable<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe finale ended with Malcolm finally professing his feelings for Lori. It turned out to only be in his head, with Lori instead sharing with him her dilemma whether to move on with her new boyfriend or reunite with her ex-husband. Malcolm saved his confession for another time \u2014 which now will never come.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAdditional cast included J.R. Ramirez (as David Soto), Caleb Baumann (Merritt Soto), Cary Christopher (Justin Jeffries), Leven Miranda (Flora Jeffries), Liv Lindell (Casey Soto) and Cassidy Paul (Penelope Jeffries).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDeitchman and Robinson served as showrunners alongside Garrett Lerner. The three executive produced alongside Jon Erwin, Justin Rosenblatt and Jon Gunn for Wonder Project, Foley, Brad Silberling, Alex Goldstone for 42 &amp; Anonymous Content and Kingdom Story Company.
