(Sadly, it\u2019s mostly just rest, and not, like, a magic elixir made of dirt and troll blood.) Now, bandmate <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/artist\/mick-jagger\" target=\"_blank\">Mick Jagger<\/a> has decided to weigh in on mortality, and the swagger lord himself hasn\u2019t enjoy getting older one bit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s nothing good about it,\u201d Jagger told <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/the-interview\/id1624946521\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>New York Times\u2019 The Interview<\/em> podcast<\/a>. \u201cNothing. You don\u2019t get wisdom. You forget everything. Forgot all my wisdom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Off the top of my head, I could think of lots of reasons why the 82-year-old Jagger might like being old: getting to fall asleep whenever\/wherever you want; building a long canon of important work (The Stones just released their 25th album, <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/the-rolling-stones-foreign-tongues-album-review\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Foreign Tongues<\/em><\/a>); getting free stuff and preferential treatment (outside of being a rock god); and feeling as if you never have to impress a living soul ever again.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>But as Jagger further explained, none of that\u2019s worth what he\u2019s lost:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI might have had a couple of pearls, but I\u2019ve forgotten what they are,\u201d Jagger noted. \u201cIt\u2019s not particularly pleasant and, of course, you can\u2019t do things as quickly as you want to, and physically you can\u2019t do things that you would like to do. You can still do them, but you have to be more careful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, you might wonder why a guy who has been famous for the last 60-plus years might hate getting older (aside from no longer playing on his amateur kickball league). As it turns out, Jagger actually shared a gem that might at least partially explain why getting older might have hit him extra hard.<\/p>\n<p>When asked specifically about fame and his relationship with the \u201coutside world,\u201d Jagger had this to say: \u201cObviously, it\u2019s not normal. It is not like most people\u2019s lives. It does affect you. You can become disassociated. From other people.\u201d (Social isolation and loneliness pose a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nia.nih.gov\/news\/social-isolation-loneliness-older-people-pose-health-risks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">health and wellbeing risks<\/a> among the old\/elderly.)<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jagger, if you\u2019d like to just hang out, we can do some dope life-affirming things, like jet-skiing down waterfalls or even just <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/06\/mick-jagger-geese-the-rolling-stones\/\" target=\"_blank\">attending a Geese concert<\/a>.
