Best known for the <em>Law &amp; Order <\/em>franchise, Dick Wolf is one of the most prominent producers on television. While <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/yellowstone-change-main-character-john-dutton-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Yellowstone<\/em>\u2019s Taylor Sheridan<\/a> may have more shows in production, Wolf\u2019s TV empire has lasted decades and spanned some of the longest-running network TV hits in history.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<p>Like fellow super producers Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Murphy, many of Wolf\u2019s projects have become successful enough to spawn spinoffs, some of which have then spawned spinoffs of their own. Although <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/law-and-order-golden-era-scheduling-nbc\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Law &amp; Order <\/em>originally began back in 1990<\/a> and ran until 2010, its 1999 spinoff,<em> Law &amp; Order: Special Victims Unit<\/em>, has arguably eclipsed the original series in terms of popularity. <em>Law &amp; Order<\/em> was revived in 2022, but <em>Law &amp; Order: Special Victims Unit <\/em>has released an astounding 594 episodes across 27 seasons since the show began.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Wolf\u2019s prolific output. After all, despite green lighting <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/the-rockford-files-david-boreanaz-reboot-franchise\/\" target=\"_blank\">David Boreanaz\u2019s upcoming reboot of <em>The Rockford Files<\/em><\/a> as part of its 2026 schedule, NBC remains remarkably reliant on Wolf\u2019s productions heading into the new TV season. Currently, NBC\u2019s Wednesday evening lineup is composed almost entirely of Wolf\u2019s shows.<\/p>\n<p>Both <em>Law &amp; Order <\/em>and<em> Law &amp; Order: SVU<\/em> were renewed, and although <em>Law &amp; Order: Organized Crime<\/em> was canceled, the writing was on the wall for that spinoff ever since the series moved to Peacock. The arrival of <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/big-bang-theory-sequel-stuart-fails-save-universe-christine-baranski-leonard\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em>\u2019s upcoming spinoff <\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/big-bang-theory-sequel-stuart-fails-save-universe-christine-baranski-leonard\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stuart Fails to Save the Universe<\/a> <\/em>proves that, even after the prequels <em>Young Sheldon <\/em>and<em> Georgie &amp; Mandy\u2019s First Marriage<\/em>, there is still an appetite for more from a sitcom franchise that started back in 2007. As long as Wolf\u2019s shows remain similarly consistent in their popularity, it seems almost inevitable that they would be renewed and spawn further spinoffs.<\/p>\n<p>However, this analysis ignores the new shows viewers aren\u2019t getting in their stead, particularly when it comes to NBC procedurals specifically. With <em>Chicago P.D<\/em>, <em>Chicago Med<\/em>, <em>Chicago Fire<\/em>, <em>Law &amp; Order <\/em>and<em> Law &amp; Order: SVU<\/em>, Wolf\u2019s shows take up a lot of proverbial oxygen when it comes to NBC\u2019s procedurals. Promising pilots like <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/nbc-emily-deschanel-pilot-key-witness-canceled\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Bones<\/em> star Emily Deschanel\u2019s <em>Key Witness<\/em><\/a> are often passed up while spinoffs of spinoffs of Wolf\u2019s shows are green lit.<\/p>\n<p>Focusing on a criminal profiler who centers her analysis on the victims of crime instead of their perpetrators, <em>Key Witness<\/em> sounded like an original, innovative reinvention of the criminal profiler archetype already seen in <em>Hannibal<\/em>, <em>Criminal Minds<\/em>, and <em>Mindhunter<\/em>. However, since Dick Wolf\u2019s NBC shows like <strong><em>Law &amp; Order <\/em><\/strong>and<strong><em> Law &amp; Order: SVU<\/em><\/strong> are among the only procedurals produced by the network
