GOPer- turned-Independent Rep. Kevin Kiley (Calif.) also voted against the measure, which passed 216-214.<\/li>\n<li>The package includes $73 billion in funding for the Iran war, $12 in farm aid and a $10 billion fund aimed at incentivizing states to adopt elements of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/06\/25\/mike-johnson-trump-save-america-act\" target=\"_blank\">SAVE America Act<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>While the measure narrowly eked by, members remain uneasy about the lack of spending offsets, and disagreements persist over enforcement mechanisms for their\u00a0signature election bill.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Driving the news:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/politics-policy\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\">President Trump<\/a>\u00a0and administration officials ramped up pressure on House Republicans to support the budget resolution ahead of Wednesday&#8217;s vote. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;I am asking all House Republicans to VOTE YES this week on the Budget Resolution, which is an important first step towards getting a Budget Bill,&#8221; Trump wrote Monday on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/%40realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116953050956197142\" target=\"_blank\">Truth Social<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Between the lines:<\/strong> The proposed SAVE America Act provisions are already drawing criticism from some conservatives.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rather than including the full SAVE Act, the package proposes grants to encourage states to adopt voter ID requirements.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;That&#8217;s just free money for Florida,&#8221; Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) said of the grant program last week. Blue states &#8220;will never take the grant money. I&#8217;m not a big fan of carrots.
