La Flame\u2019s winning streak continued on Wednesday (July 22) when he graced the cover of <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/features\/travis-scott-interview-the-odyssey-paramount-deal-1236817092\/\" target=\"_blank\"\/><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/features\/travis-scott-interview-the-odyssey-paramount-deal-1236817092\/\">Variety,<\/a><\/em> which saw him dish on a multitude of topics, including his anticipated forthcoming album and first-look deal with Paramount Pictures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019m here to conquer who I am as an artist. In these side quests \u2014 these cool things I like to do \u2014 I never lose sight of the main goal. I\u2019m still trying to do every stadium in the United States and the world,\u201d Scott said, shedding light into his mindset as he heads into his next record, which will be his first since 2023\u2019s <em>Utopia<\/em>. \u201cI\u2019m working on an album right now, and that\u2019s f\u2013king amazing. And I\u2019m constantly pushing myself to push the sonics to try to make something that I haven\u2019t made before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs far as his musical influences at the moment, La Flame revealed he\u2019s been listening to a mix of Parliament, Oasis, Van Halen, Don Toliver, Raphael Saadiq and Daft Punk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI need to double down on trying to make something that can reach the person that\u2019s all the way back in the bowl, so how do I reach them like the person that\u2019s right next to me,\u201d he continued. \u201cSo that\u2019s what I\u2019m on \u2014 trying to elevate the show to a more theater aspect. Stay tuned on how that\u2019s going to happen. <em>Utopia<\/em> was supposed to be a play. I want to try to bring back true experiences before they try to take them all down and make everything digital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe 35-year-old\u2019s <em>Utopia<\/em> topped the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/billboard-200\/\">Billboard 200 <\/a>in 2023 with 496,000 total album-equivalent units earned in the first week, according to Luminate. The project was nominated for best rap album at the 2024 Grammy Awards, but lost to Killer Mike\u2019s <em>Michael<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tScott has long been open about his goals to capture a Grammy, which has eluded him thus far after 10 nominations. Perhaps an Oscar could come first, with the Houston native teaming up with James Blake and Ludwig G\u00f6ransson for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rb-hip-hop\/travis-scott-james-blake-the-odyssey-soundtrack-when-im-home-1236296866\/\">\u201cWhen I\u2019m Home,\u201d <\/a>which landed on <em>The Odyssey<\/em> soundtrack and plays during the film\u2019s ending credits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI still need a Grammy, but I would love to take home an Oscar. That\u2019d be cool,\u201d he told <em>Variety<\/em>. \u201cI like to set goals, and I just want to achieve them.
