Generally speaking, it takes us longer to find our place in the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A lot of us have been indoctrinated into heteronormativity and don&#8217;t have the opportunity to figure out we are gay until our 20s or 30s (or even later, and some never do). So then, the dating experience a person might have started to accumulate in their teens starts later in life.<\/p>\n<p>Even for those of us who live in a place where gay marriage is legal, many don&#8217;t feel welcomed into that institution and, thus, don&#8217;t want to be a part of it.
