The estate\u2019s assets would consist \u201csolely of claims for damages resulting from the circumstances surrounding his death.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The authority over the estate will enable her to file a lawsuit on behalf of Nolan if someone is found legally responsible for the 18-year-old\u2019s death. The filing states that Wonsley is the sole heir, as Nolan never married or had any children.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The filing comes as the investigation into Nolan\u2019s death continues. Nolan Wells had reportedly travelled by boat to Horn Island for July 4 celebrations. A newly discovered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2026\/07\/21\/nolan-wells-new-video-final-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video<\/a> recorded on the day of Nolan\u2019s disappearance shows him partying with a group of men. A black man, thought to be Nolan, was also shown bending over, probably to reach a drink. This may be a video showing Nolan\u2019s last whereabouts.<\/p>\n<p>Following the party, Nolan\u2019s friend group returned to the mainland without him. His phone and keys remained onboard. Wells\u2019s body was found at the shoreline of the island near where they partied.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities believe that he drowned, though his family continues to conduct an independent investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, many have suspected foul play and an attempt to sweep the real case under the rug. Wonsley told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodmorningamerica.com\/news\/story\/parents-nolan-wells-call-investigation-seek-answers-mysterious-134627407\" id=\"https:\/\/www.goodmorningamerica.com\/news\/story\/parents-nolan-wells-call-investigation-seek-answers-mysterious-134627407\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Good Morning America<\/a> that the family wants \u201chonesty and transparency\u201d in the investigation. She has also demanded the \u201csame respect that would be given to anybody else, and that\u2019s it.\u201d Finally, they are just looking for \u201canswers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Al Sharpton offered $50,000 for an arrest or conviction in the case at Nolan\u2019s funeral.
