As a pioneering woman in modern music, Lily\u2019s sharp wit and candid storytelling directly paved the way for a generation of today\u2019s biggest female artists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Featuring interviews by those who \u201cknow her best\u201d the film is a \u201cstory of resilience, reinvention, and an artist reclaiming her narrative on her own terms. This is Lily Allen as she\u2019s never been seen before. Raw, real, and redefining what it means to thrive in the spotlight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"VIRGINIA WOOLF&amp;apos;S NIGHT &amp; DAY | Official UK Trailer | Asterisk Films\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fPQ4RfIYeQ0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Along with a release on Prime Amazon Video, the upcoming documentary will also be screened in cinemas globally.<\/p>\n<p>Allen recently starred in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/film\/lily-allen-jack-whitehall-to-star-in-virginia-woolfs-night-and-day-adaptation-3941590\"><em>Virginia Woolf\u2019s Night And Day<\/em><\/a> alongside Haley Bennett and Timothy Spall.<\/p>\n<p>The film, based on the 1919 book of the same name by Virginia Woolf, also stars Elyas M\u2019Barek, Jack Whitehall, Jennifer Saunders, Sally Phillips, Misia Butler, Alex Macqueen, Simon Phillips and Frances Barber. Allen played Mary Datchet who organises the Suffragettes.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere Allen recently responded to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/lily-allen-defends-artistic-choice-after-criticism-of-west-end-girl-tour-im-extremely-proud-of-it-3954045\">criticism of her recent \u2018West End Girl\u2019\u00a0tour, saying she is \u201cextremely proud of it\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It came after Allen chose not to play any of her older hits.
