He owned a 56-foot yacht he named Silver Lining, and authorities said he was known as a master yachtsman and a world traveler.<\/p>\n<p>But the U.S. Marshals Service and federal prosecutors say it was all built on a false identity.<\/p>\n<p>Graydon\u2019s real name, <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usmarshals.gov\/news\/press-release\/one-of-rhode-islands-longest-wanted-fugitive-captured-after-more-20-years-run\" target=\"_blank\">federal authorities said<\/a>, was Ronald L. Charles C. Calenda for the District of Rhode Island said in a statement. \u201cRonald Fischer will now return to Rhode Island to face the consequences he sought to evade for more than 20 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis arrest demonstrates that time does not erase accountability,\u201d Wing Chau, U.S. marshal for the District of Rhode Island, said in a statement. \u201cFor more than twenty years, Ronald Fischer believed he had successfully escaped justice. The men and women of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, together with our partners, remained committed to ensuring that day would eventually come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fischer, who had been accused of raping a woman on a yacht called Lion King in 2003, fled during his May 2005 rape trial. He was convicted of first-degree sexual assault in his absence.<\/p>\n<p>An arrest warrant was issued for him that same month for failure to appear, first degree sexual assault and flight to avoid prosecution, according to federal authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl Gingrich told <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kDR2WHmgMoM\" target=\"_blank\">WRAL News<\/a> she focused on healing from the trauma she experienced while authorities searched for Fischer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started to come to terms with it thanks to a very good doctor and a good therapist,\u201d she told the North Carolina news station. \u201cBut it never left the back of my mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gingrich said the last time she saw Fischer was in court. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe sat very casually at the desk with his attorney in a very casual position, just staring at me and with a kind of smug look on his face,\u201d she told WRAL News. \u201cAnd now I\u2019ll be able to do the same to him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fischer had long been listed among <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/risp.ri.gov\/mostwanted\" target=\"_blank\">Rhode Island\u2019s Most Wanted fugitives<\/a>, including his photo and the various aliases he was known to use. He was described as a former anesthesiologist, a \u201cmaster yachtsman\u201d and \u201cworld traveler.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Citing law enforcement sources, <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/local\/captured-rhode-island-fugitive-ran-la-biotech-company\/3919658\/\" target=\"_blank\">NBC4<\/a> reported that Fisher, under the alias Richard Graydon, worked as an executive at Immix Biopharma, a biotech pharmaceutical company in West Los Angeles. <\/p>\n<p>In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, just four days after Fischer\u2019s capture, Immix Biopharma disclosed it had terminated Richard Graydon\u2019s employment on July 17 \u201cfor reasons unrelated to his activities at the company.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the company did not respond to a request for comment. But news of his capture raised questions about the company\u2019s hiring practices. <\/p>\n<p>A law firm representing the company\u2019s investors <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2026\/07\/21\/3330886\/0\/en\/immix-biopharma-investigated-by-the-portnoy-law-firm.html\" target=\"_blank\"><u>announced Tuesday<\/u><\/a> that it had launched an inquiry into whether Immix Biopharma or members of its leadership team breached federal securities laws.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMedia coverage revealed that an executive serving at Immix under the alias \u2018Richard Graydon\u2019 was allegedly Ronald Fischer, a top fugitive wanted in Rhode Island who was operating under an assumed identity,\u201d the Portnoy Law Firm wrote in a news release.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<script async=\"async\" data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/pl30214220.effectivecpmnetwork.com\/9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div id=\"container-9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\"><\/div>\r\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard Graydon spent years cultivating an enviable life.
