From everything that I&#8217;ve seen and recorded \u2014 it happened on the first one, it happened on the second one \u2014 it&#8217;s so good, and it&#8217;s so interesting,<\/em>&#8221; Johnson said in an interview with <em>ScreenRant<\/em>&#8216;s Ash Crossan for <em>The Dink<\/em>. Johnson voices Peter B. Parker in the <em>Spider-Verse <\/em>movies, Miles&#8217; initially unwilling and underwhelming mentor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>After the cliffhanger we got in the last film, what are you most excited for people to see?<\/em>&#8221; asked Crossan. In addition to his comments above, <strong>Johnson responded: &#8220;<em>The sequences are just so well-thought-out that I think it&#8217;s always worth the wait. Meanwhile, Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) rallies old friends and new ones to find Miles. Miles is also grappling with the dilemma of his father&#8217;s death being a &#8220;<em>canon event<\/em>&#8221; \u2014 if he saves his father, it will rip apart his home universe. <\/p>\n<p>2018&#8217;s <em>Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse<\/em> kicked off the electrifying new take on the Spider-Man IP, told in spectacular stylized 3D animation. The movie (and its 2023 sequel) also features Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Velez voicing Miles&#8217; parents, with <em>Across the Spider-Verse<\/em> welcoming Oscar Isaac, Daniel Kaluuya, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, and others to the lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, <em>Into the Spider-Verse<\/em> won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature (its sequel would lose to <em>The Boy and the Heron<\/em>) and many other awards. <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/spider-man-beyond-spider-verse-release-delay-makes-sense\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse<\/em> has faced major delays<\/a> since its predecessor was in theaters, owing to the extensive process of animating the movie and some revisions to the story, but it is now confirmed for a 2027 release date.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"w-promotion-offer promo-article-content-3\/4-depth w-promotion-widget\" data-popup=\"false\" data-sentinel-tracking=\"false\" style=\"min-height: 250px;\" data-promotion-zone=\"TmV3c2xldHRlciBBcnRpY2xlIENvbnRlbnQgV2lkZ2V0\" data-nosnippet=\"\">\n                                        <link rel=\"stylesheet\" href=\"https:\/\/static0.srcdn.com\/assets\/promotions.bde7f662.css\"\/>\n<\/aside>\n<p>In the intervening years, however, Sony Pictures Animation has continued to establish itself as the new premier studio for animated films, primarily with <em>KPop Demon Hunters&#8217; <\/em>smashing success last summer (distributed by Netflix). <em>KPop Demon Hunters 2<\/em> is also in the works, setting itself up as Sony&#8217;s second massive blockbuster animated franchise.
