They also had a hometown dinner on the show, which the NFL star was absent from. <span class=\"credit\">Disney General Entertainment Content via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In 2016, while Jordan was competing for Fletcher\u2019s heart on the dating show, he told the former real estate developer that he was close with Luke, but that Aaron was estranged from the family.<\/p>\n<p>Luke told Fletcher that the tension was not something the bunch liked to \u201ctalk about a whole lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt pains both of us like, not to have that relationship [with Aaron] \u2014 we miss our brother,\u201d he continued. \u201cI trust that God brings things full circle and that everything would just get back to us being a family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Aaron refused to speak on the situation at the time.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_31-0\">In July 2016, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wisn.com\/article\/aaron-rodgers-mum-on-relationship-with-brother-jordan-rodgers\/6333871\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told\u00a0ABC\u2019s WISN 12 News<\/a>, \u201cAs far as those kinds of things go, I\u2019ve always found that it\u2019s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I\u2019m just \u2014 I\u2019m not going to speak on those things.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Aaron (pictured here with his mom in July 2026) later said, \u201cI was never asked to go to, not that I would\u2019ve gone.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">aaronrodgers12\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_31-0\">Eight years later, in his Netflix documentary, \u201cAaron Rodgers: Enigma,\u201d the NFL star <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/12\/17\/celebrity-news\/aaron-rodgers-calls-out-family-for-excluding-him-then-girlfriend-olivia-munn-from-stupid-bachelorette-dinner\/\">explained his side<\/a> of the infamous dinner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was quiet about it because I thought the best way to do it was don\u2019t talk about it publicly,\u201d Aaron shared. \u201cAnd what did they do? They go on a bulls\u2013t show and leave two empty chairs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The empty chairs in question were meant to be for himself and Munn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey all agreed, like, this was a good thing to do, to leave two empty chairs at a stupid dating show \u2026 But like, a dinner that was during the [NFL] season, that I was never asked to go to, not that I would\u2019ve gone,\u201d Aaron said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aaron slams reports that Munn was involved in his family issues<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>In 2017, Ed (pictured here with his wife) said that Aaron had stopped talking to the family shortly after he began dating Olivia Munn.  <span class=\"credit\">luke rodgers\/ instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_41-0\">A year after the rift was made public, Ed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/01\/15\/sports\/football\/aaron-rodgers-green-bay-packers-nfl-playoffs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told The New York Times<\/a>\u00a0in 2017 that \u201cfame can change things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_43-0\">At the time, Aaron was a quarterback on the Green Bay Packers.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_45-0\">The family\u2019s patriarch also shared with the outlet that Aaron hadn\u2019t spoken to his parents or siblings since 2014 \u2014 only a few months after he began dating Munn.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, Ed blasted the actress to writer Ian O\u2019Connor for\u00a0<a data-aps-asc-tag=\"pagesix-20\" data-aps-asin=\"0063297868\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url\" href=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fdp%2F0063297868%3Ftag%3Dpagesix-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fpagesix.com%2Fcelebrity-news%2Faaron-rodgers-estranged-family-drama-explained%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">\u201cOut of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The star (pictured here with the actress in 2016) clapped back, stating that Munn had \u201cnothing to do with\u201d his family\u2019s \u201cdeep-rooted\u201d issues. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cShe said the family was dysfunctional before she met Aaron, which is bull,\u201d Ed exclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>However, Aaron hit back, explaining that Munn <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/08\/09\/entertainment\/aaron-rodgers-insists-ex-olivia-munn-had-nothing-to-do-with-his-deep-rooted-issues-family-estrangement-report\/\">had \u201cnothing to do with\u201d his family\u2019s \u201cdeep-rooted\u201d issues<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron and Munn <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2017\/04\/07\/olivia-munn-and-aaron-rodgers-split-after-three-years\/\">split in 2017<\/a> after three years together.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aaron <strong>hints at a reconciliation with his parents<\/strong> in 2018<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Despite Jordan publicly stating that Aaron (pictured here with his dad) didn\u2019t reach out to his parents during the 2018 Calfiornia wildfires, the football player spent his 35th birthday with them a month later. <span class=\"credit\">aaronrodgers12\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In 2018, the family drama made its way to social media. <\/p>\n<p>Jordan posted a shot of himself and Luke to Instagram, detailing how he has always looked up to his older sibling.<\/p>\n<p>A source close to Aaron told People at the time that leaving out the Super Bowl MVP was \u201cprobably intentional,\u201d calling the brothers \u201cpassive-aggressive.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Aaron (pictured here in August) never addressed his younger sibling\u2019s accusations. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jordan also blasted Aaron for allegedly not <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2018\/11\/21\/aaron-rodgers-brother-heightens-family-feud-with-wildfire-accusation\/\">contacting their parents during the California wildfires<\/a> that year, despite announcing that he was donating $1 million to people impacted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen your own Mom is home alone during the fires, car packed ready to evacuate, &amp; you miss the fundamental first step of compassion; calling your parents to make sure they are safe \u2026 Everything else just feels like an act,\u201d Jordan wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron kept quiet on the accusations, and instead, a month later, revealed he had spent his 35th birthday with his parents.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aaron opens up about putting the  family feud behind\u00a0him<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>In 2022, Aaron said about reuniting with his family (pictured here together without him), \u201cI do believe in healing and I believe in the possibility of reconciliation at some point.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">thelukerodgers\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_111-0\">While on the\u00a0\u201cAubrey Marcus Podcast\u201d in 2022, Aaron admitted that he <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/04\/aaron-rodgers-believes-in-healing-following-family-feud\/\">didn\u2019t hold any \u201cbitterness\u201d <\/a>in his heart toward his family.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_113-0\">\u201cI do believe in healing and I believe in the possibility of reconciliation at some point,\u201d he mused. <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_113-0\">\u201cBut, it\u2019s a different journey for all of us, and to judge on the outside about what should be or what it should look like, or who\u2019s wrong or who\u2019s right, is just a game I\u2019ve never wanted to play and still don\u2019t want to play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite his hopeful words, Aaron was absent from Jordan and Fletcher\u2019s wedding that year.
