Happens all the time. We talked about a couple of them, actually. \u2018Good Night, and Good Luck,\u2019 George [Clooney] offered me a part in that. I couldnt\u2019 get out of \u2018ER\u2019 to do it. I was offered the part of Private Ryan in \u2018Saving Private Ryan,\u2019 couldn\u2019t get out of \u2018ER\u2019 to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWyle added that he was in some ways glad he missed out on those parts, because the people who got them made the best of the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI almost am glad that I didn\u2019t do them, because, you know, those guys made those parts,\u201d he said. \u201cMatt Damon was Private Ryan. There were two. I got offered the part of Upham, which was Jeremy Davies\u2019 part, and he was so phenomenal in that I couldn\u2019t imagine doing anything close to what he did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWyle is currently starring in another hit medical drama, \u201cThe Pitt,\u201d which wrapped up its second season on HBO Max in April.
