Premiering on Prime Video in 2022, <em>Reacher <\/em>was a success right out of the gate, thanks in large part to Alan Ritchson&#8217;s butt-kicking, no-nonsense titular antihero. The show instantly took the mantle as Prime Video&#8217;s ultimate &#8220;<em>Dad TV<\/em>&#8221; show after <em>Bosch <\/em>ended the year before.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<p>There are 30 published novels in <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/jack-reacher-books-ranked-worst-best\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lee Child&#8217;s <em>Jack Reacher <\/em>series<\/a>, with each season of the Prime Video series adapting one of the books, and thus far, the consensus is that <em>Reacher <\/em>has done a bang-up job. Whereas the Tom Cruise big-screen adaptations never became the cinematic franchise they set out to be, the show continues to deliver the thrills, with limited wait time between seasons \u2014 <em>Reacher <\/em>season 4 is set to premiere on August 12, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>While Ritchson&#8217;s Jack Reacher may very well continue to entertainingly dispense with bad guys for the next 30 years, it&#8217;s nigh-impossible that <em>Reacher <\/em>will reach the heights of <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/db\/tv-show\/justified\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>Justified<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. Premiering on FX in 2010, <em>Justified <\/em>centers on Raylan Givens (Olyphant), a U.S. Marshal in Harlan County, Kentucky, who upholds the law and rights wrongs using his particular brand of frontier-style justice. <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/best-seasons-of-justified-ranked\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Justified <\/em>ran for six successful seasons<\/a> and spawned a limited sequel series, <em>Justified: City Primeval<\/em>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b, in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Like <em>Reacher<\/em>, <em>Justified <\/em>also has revered source material in Elmore Leonard&#8217;s short stories featuring Givens&#8217; character. In <em>Reacher<\/em>&#8216;s three seasons thus far, the protagonist hasn&#8217;t changed or deepened in any meaningful way, and that&#8217;s unlikely to change in season 4. There&#8217;s nothing necessarily wrong with that, but it limits the <em>reach <\/em>of the show \u2014 no pun intended.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, for as skilled and slick as he is, Raylan Givens is a flawed, vulnerable main character, which makes him infinitely more compelling than an overpowered, stoic antihero. With <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/elmore-leonard-film-movie-tv-adaptations-best\/\" target=\"_blank\">Elmore Leonard&#8217;s prose<\/a> to draw from, Givens&#8217; dialogue also takes on a poetic yet witty quality that Reacher&#8217;s deadpan one-liners don&#8217;t even come close to topping.<\/p>\n<p><em>Reacher <\/em>is also a very black-and-white show when it comes to its good guys and bad guys, and the latter, in particular, suffers as a result.
