Alongside the announcement, the duo has shared the album\u2019s latest single, \u201cConcrete Glen,\u201d complete with an accompanying music video.<\/p>\n<p>The follow-up to 2022\u2019s <em>No Rules Sandy<\/em> marks Sylvan Esso\u2019s first album released entirely through <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2021\/08\/sylvan-esso-psychic-hotline-record-label-blake-mills-neon-blue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Psychic Hotline<\/a>, the label Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn co-founded in 2019. Produced by the duo at their Betty\u2019s studio in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, <em>Ow \u221e<\/em> was written over nearly four years and arrives at a moment when, after four acclaimed LPs and multiple Grammy nominations, the band has complete control over every aspect of its music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=sylvan-esso%2Afirst-self-released-ep-ow-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Fsylvan-esso-tickets%2Fperformer%2F36189\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Get Sylvan Esso Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The newly released \u201cConcrete Glen\u201d reflects that approach, weaving a sample of Sigur R\u00f3s\u2019 \u201cSvefn-g-englar\u201d into a hazy electronic pop track inspired by a surreal night out. Across the album\u2019s 12 songs, Sylvan Esso enlisted a cast of collaborators, including Daniel Aged, Glenn Kotche, Buddy Ross, Jenn Wasner, Jake Luppen, and several others, combining live instrumentation with Sanborn\u2019s electronic production in the duo\u2019s unmistakable style.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>Discussing the album\u2019s central idea, Meath explained that <em>Ow \u221e<\/em> is about accepting life\u2019s hardships. \u201cLiving hurts forever, and then it stops. But also it\u2019s a little silly,\u201d she said. \u201cIf you\u2019re going to keep participating in the world, and in your life, you have to commit to being hurt\u2026 In some ways it\u2019s like a rallying cry, saying, \u2018I\u2019m gonna get hurt forever, and that\u2019s okay.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before the album arrives, fans will be able to hear <em>Ow \u221e<\/em> in full during a series of global listening events on September 3rd, with stops planned in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Tokyo, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Following the album\u2019s release, Sylvan Esso will take<em> Ow \u221e<\/em> on the road during the expansive full-band tour they <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/06\/sylvan-esso-hot-slob-north-american-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced alongside the release of \u201cHot Slob\u201d<\/a> last month. Stretching from October through March, the run includes performances at Brooklyn Paramount in New York, Chicago\u2019s Salt Shed, Los Angeles\u2019 Wiltern, and two nights apiece in Asheville, Washington, DC, Portland, and Denver before wrapping in Nashville next spring.
