Wisher Jr., a producer and screenwriter who co-wrote <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-terminator\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-terminator\" data-tag=\"the-terminator\">The Terminator<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/terminator-2-judgment-day\/\" id=\"auto-tag_terminator-2-judgment-day\" data-tag=\"terminator-2-judgment-day\">Terminator 2: Judgment Day<\/a><\/em>, dies. He was 71.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Wisher family confirmed news of the filmmaker\u2019s death, saying he \u201cpassed away peacefully at home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWilliam believed that stories have the power to connect people across generations,\u201d the family said in a statement. \u201cWhile the world celebrates the unforgettable films he helped create, we will remember him for his kindness, his humor, his brilliant imagination, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWisher helped redefine the science fiction action genre as one of the writers of James Cameron\u2019s <em>The Terminator<\/em>, which was released in 1984.
