(The parade also featured several local girls\u2019 youth sports teams.) Once the parade had arrived at the Toshiba Plaza on the Strip, Flavor Flav and Clark County commissioner Tick Segerblom handed out keys to medalists from the 2026 Winter Olympics. Following the ceremony, Segerblom then declared it \u201cFlavor Flav Day\u201d in Clark County.<\/p>\n<p>Added Segerblom, \u201cFlavor saw what was happening, stepped up to the plate, threw this event, and look what you created.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also part of the opening, fans in attendance were treated to a free concert headlined by Public Enemy. The concert, which took place right outside the T-Mobile Arena, also featured performances from Sheila E., Blu de Tiger, and Grace Bowers. The show also featured a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dak2cqkRRwF\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">charity component<\/a>, where a winning bidder was not only able to meet Flavor Flav and Chuck D, but introduce the group on stage. Proceeds benefited the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inspiringchildren.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Inspiring Children Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to media before Thursday\u2019s ceremonies (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/olympics\/story\/_\/id\/49381919\/team-usa-women-athletes-feted-weekend-get-keys-vegas-strip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ESPN<\/a>), Flavor Flav said, \u201cI\u2019m getting a little sentimental right now because I\u2019m happy, and if I do cry some tears, this is tears of joy. Nothing has happened like this ever.\u201d Flavor Flav added, \u201cPolitically speaking, Donald Trump, my girls are going to get a way\u2026 better celebration than what you gave the guys. My girls are going to be eating shrimp, lobster, steak, we\u2019re going to be eating fish. We\u2019re going to be eating everything, not McDonald\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s clear the athletes felt the significance of this event. Figure skater and 2026 Olympic Games gold medalist Amber Glenn told ESPN, \u201cI think celebrating women in sports is something we really need to bring into the limelight. And I\u2019m so glad that Flavor Flav was able to make this event happen\u2026 We\u2019ve never had an event like this to celebrate women in sports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Glenn, other attendees included figure skater\/American sweetheart Alysa Liu, cross-country skier Jessica Diggins, and alpine skier Breezy Johnson, among dozens of other Team USA members.<\/p>\n<p>Over the rest of the weekend, the athletes were gifted free tickets to shows from Backstreet Boys and Ed Sheeran. Performing their \u201cInto the Millennium\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/02\/backstreet-boys-summer-2026-sphere-residency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">residency<\/a> at the Sphere (get tickets <a style=\"display: inline !important;\" href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=backstreet-boys&amp;subId2=flavor-flav-las-vegas&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Fbackstreet-boys-tickets%2Fperformer%2F56\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">here<\/a>), Backstreet Boys held a meet-and-greet ahead of their show on Friday, July 17th. During that evening\u2019s concert, the group also offered up a special shout-out to both Flavor Flav and the Olympian athletes.<\/p>\n<p>The attendees also met with Sheeran ahead of his Allegiant Stadium headlining show on the following night. Attending a\u00a0stop on his <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2025\/09\/ed-sheeran-2026-tour-how-to-get-tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cLOOP Tour\u201d<\/a> (get tickets <a style=\"display: inline !important;\" href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=ed-sheeran&amp;subId2=flavor-flav-las-vegas&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Fed-sheeran-tickets%2Fperformer%2F28681\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">here<\/a>), they enjoyed a view from the box seats, with rugby player Ilona Maher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/flavorflavsshe\/reel\/Da9kYX1seMC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">showing particular enthusiasm<\/a> by playing air fiddle.<\/p>\n<p>Other programming included an intimate celebration dinner at the MGM Resort, two days of various panels and group events, and a keynote speech from Chantell Preston, owner of the League One Volleyball team the San Francisco Signal. The weekend then wrapped up on Sunday, July 19th with a giant party at Vegas\u2019 Tailgate Beach Club, which has been described as \u201cthe Strip\u2019s first sports pool club.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before expanding into a multi-day event, Flavor Flav had initially offered to host a celebration for the <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/02\/flavor-flav-womens-hockey-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US women\u2019s hockey team<\/a>.\u00a0The gesture was a direct response to disparaging remarks made by Donald Trump during a leaked call to the US men\u2019s hockey team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must tell you, we\u2019re gonna have to bring the women\u2019s team \u2014 you do know that,\u201d Trump begrudgingly said, adding that he believed he would \u201cprobably would be impeached\u201d if he didn\u2019t invite the women.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center;
